This PC will max out most demanding games
GPU : Gigabyte GTX 970 mini ITX 313,76 € . Small but very powerful and efficient
CPU : i7 4790k @ 4.4GHz (Turbo Boost) 309,62 € . Codename : Devil Canyon . 4.4GHz out of the box , you don't even need to overclock
Mobo : Asrock Z97E ITX 129,71 € . Top of the line integrated audio = mid-range sound card , Gold Capacitor (Made in Japan)
Buy 2 sticks : Corsair Vengeance 4GB 1600MHz 37,16 € x 2 = 74.32 €
SSD : Intel 530 120GB as boot drive (store your OS and programs only) 68,30 € . Add another 1TB HDD if you need place to store your game data or just use external drive
Case : Antec ISK 600 57,75 €
PSU : Antec 600W 48,13 €
Your bills would be : 1001,59 €
Top of the line components are packed in this small form factor ITX ! Happy Gaming !
If you don't know how to build it then :
_Watch some youtube videos (tutorial videos)
_Pay someone to build it for you

I wasn't going to reply to this thread until I saw you included the isk 600 case. I just built a kabini nas out of this case and wanted to point out that getting an itx gpu or shorter psu is a very smart move to fit everything in comfortably. Also please get a modular psu as this case only fits one main cooling fan and needs as little restriction as possible to optimize cooling and prevent stray cables from going everywhere. Make sure you like brushed aluminum, otherwise it is a great box, and is really sturdy and sleek.

thanks! But...is it necessary a so expensive MoBo and VGA to play only emulators (Dolphin I think is the emulator which requires more resources than all the others)? For example, I checked those 2 configurations:

are they enough to play Wii games with max performances? Is it necessary a 4Ghz cpu and a so powerflul VGA? or do you meanthat with your configurations I can also play with great performances the pc games too?

thanks!
Quote:are they enough to play Wii games with max performances?
Not even close
Quote:Is it necessary a 4Ghz cpu and a so powerflul VGA?
4GHz doesn't mean anything
AMD FX 8350 @ 5.0GHz (Suicide OC) is much slower than i3 4130 @ 3.4GHz in Dolphin Benchmark
AMD single threaded performance is poor
You will need at least a GTX 980 plus top of the line CPU if you want max out everything in any game
I recommended those parts because you didn't tell me anything about your budget ....
5.0ghz is easy on a FX-8350. However they still are terribad when it comes to price to performance in Dolphin.
really?? I need an GTX 970 (about 320 euros) or GTX 980 (about 530euros) to play at maximum levels dolphin games?!?!?!?!?!? If I'm not wrong, thery are top gamma vga! With those vga I suppose I can play at Ultra levels also all pc games, is it correct

And also I have to buy a top gamma cpu too?

Well, if it is possible, for this pc that I would like to use Only for emulation, my budget is about 600/650 euro.. Is it not possible to buy a pc for perfect emulation at this price I think :/

Another question: why the same vga is available from different supplier? for example, the GTX 970 gygabyte you linked me costs 313 euro, I have found this one at 282 euros

is it the same vga?
Quote:Another question: why the same vga is available from different supplier?
NVIDIA make the chip only . GPU Fan/heatsink and board can be made by other manufacturer
It's common sense , nothing wrong with it . Even AMD side has : XFX , Sapphire , Zotac , Gigabyte ....
Let me ask you , Is all the milk of this planet are produced from the same manufacturer ? There are so many brands , right ?

Different size , heatsink , cappacitor . Gigabyte GTX 970 is smaller than PNY GTX 970 and Gigabyte mini GTX 970 has lower power consumption . That's why it cost higher
Not to mention the brand name
Let me tell you this . Dolphin was tested on i7 4770k @ 4.3GHz + GTX Titan (1000$ GPU , cost twice as much as GTX 980) . GTX titan can max out Super Mario Galaxy (4x Internal Resolution + 9x SSAA which is even higher than 8k resolution) . Although SMG is demanding game , The Last Story is even more demanding than that ....

Do you prefer compact PC ITX (small size) or Micro ATX (medium) or ATX (full size) ? Do you plan to overclock ?

These GPUs are more-or-less required to max out Dolphin's graphics options, however I'm not even sure anyone's reported whether maxed out looks any better than nearly maxed out even on a 4k screen. For a standard 1080p screen, less intensive settings can be used and look almost as good - a much cheaper GTX 750 Ti can run Dolphin at high enough settings for 1080p to look good reasonably comfortably.
well, currently I have a monitor full hd (1920*1080), but probably I will buy for the nec gaming pc a monitor in 4K

Now..i think that a medium size pc is OK. However, I have understood that if I want to play in a 4K monitor I need a really good vga (GTX 970 or Sapphire R9 290 Vapor X or R9 290 X, I think)
and a really good cpu (4790/4790K or 4770/4770K)

Am I correct?

NO
Your native resolution doesn't matter at all . Dolphin isn't a PC game
You can enable internal resolution that is about 4k or even higher and then that internal resolution will downscale to 1080p .
For emulation , you definitely need top of the line CPU because
Higher CPU performance = Higher frame rate
Higher GPU performance = Higher resolution
CPU is the most important thing for speed
Hi,

ok I decided to buy a pc to play at maximum level both all emulators and pc games (with Ultra set up).  I checked a lot of components, here my selection and my comments/doubts. Please, feel free to add your comments!

Socket: 1150

CPU: Intel i7 4790K (4Ghz - 310€, now unavailable on that shop but i think they will have it again!) or Intel i7 4790 (3.6Ghz, 280€)  or Intel i7 4770K (3.5Ghz, 305€)  --> best choice probably Intel i7 4790K? Is it possible, if needed, to overclok it?

Mother Board: Asrock Z97E ITX (129€) or ASRock H97M-ITX/AC (88€) --> Can I buy the H97M? which is the main difference between those 2 models?

RAM: 2 x CORSAIR DDR3 4GB (1X4GB) 1600MHz C9 Vengeance Black (74€)  or 2 x Kingston DDR3 PC1866 4GB CL10 1x4GB HyperX Fury Black Series (75€) --> is it better a CL9 or CL10 ram? Probably CL9 is better? But pheraps it is better a 1866Mhz Ram?

HD: WESTERN DIGITAL 3TB CAVIAR GREEN 64MB WD30EZRX (5400rpm, 96€) or Seagate 3000GB ST3000DM001 Barracuda (7200rpm, 96€) --> best choice probably the Seagate because it has a 7200rpm

SSD: Intel SSD 2.5 120GB 530 (68€) or Intel SSD 2.5 240GB 530 (119€) or Crucial SSD 2,5 256GB Crucial MX100 7/9,5mm (102€) --> best choice probably the Crucial SSD because it has a better price than the Intel and alot of people said that Crucial SSD is good

CASE: I like those models: Aerocool Mechatron CASE Middle Tower White Steel Edition (88,63€) or MS-TECH Case ATX Midi oN CA-0300 RaptorSE (50,49) or Corsair Spec-01 Red LED (48€) or
Chieftec Flyer FI-01W-U3 white 250W TFX12V mini-ITX (63€) or Antec ISK600 (57€)/Antec 600M (67€) --> the Chieftec and Antec are miniITX, the others 3 are normal case. What do you suggest? Are all good products? Probably te Antec ISK600M is the better mini-itx, I have read great reviews.

VGA: Gigabyte GTX 970 (313€) or Sapphire R9 290 Tri - X (288€) or R9 290 X --> probably the best choice is the GTX970 (I don't know why it isn't shown in the VGA menu of the site I linked to you...but is is available) It cost 25euros more thant R9 Tri-X but I think that GTX 970 is better and I have read (I don't find again the website..) that you can do whith it a good overclock, if needed

DVD: LG DH18NS SATA 18x black (12€)

PS:  XFX 550W P1-550S-XXB9 (56€) or Antec 600W VP600P (48€)  --> I don't know...better choice..the less expensive?

Finally, do you suggest to add an Artic Freezer Extreme or CM Gemin II M4?

thank you!
