any updates on this one...? I think it's one of the more interesting titles emulation-wise.

It gets past the old points with the net and actually shows the animation with loading the game but locks up there now.
Uploaded some gameplay footage to Youtube :

I got the games working (expect for MP3 which just crashes immediately) by using the .dol swapping trick as explained in this thread.

Metroid Prime works brilliantly (no graphical errors, gameplay hinderance) expect for missing sound and slow speed, meaning, slow but stable.

Metroid Prime 2 Echoes is glitchy and you can't in fact get too far in the game as Scan Visor doesn't work at all.

I used Dolphin r4525, going to try with the newer build soon enough, I think.

EDIT :
I got the sound working using the DSP LLE plugin, it just sounds static and horrible because of the low FPS.
@ Matoking: Now the really interesting question: Do the games run exactly the same (speedwise and issues) as the CG ones?

I don't have the original games on GC so I can't answer. I think they do though, looking at gameplay footage of GC versions in Youtube I think they emulate pretty much the same way. Metroid Prime emulates at 30 FPS at the best, 10 FPS at the worst with 1280x720. Lowering the resolution and disabling almost all eye candy seems to get 10 FPS of improvement at the best. There are no graphical errors though.

Btw, using OpenAL on DSP LLE sound plugin makes the sound much better, just very choppy.

It seems GC version of Metroid Prime 2 Echoes has the Scan Visor issue too.
so has the sound of MP2 also gotten better in the latest rev?

The sound in MP2 is just fine using DSP LLE sound plugin (OpenAL), the very low FPS just makes it choppy. (the sound is synced but it stops and plays Using DSP LLE (DSound) makes it static and bad to listen.

Also, the Scan Visor in MP2 works with R4728!

It also makes some very static sounds regardless of DSP LLE configuration sometimes. One time when charging the Charge Beam and second after opening the lock near the beginning.

So, with the DSP HLE only certain sounds in MP2 are played, using DSP LLE most sounds are played, although static sounds appear, although rarely.

Will probably try the r4737 soon, probably.
yeah, actually, I asked because of http://code.google.com/p/dolphin-emu/source/detail?r=4737 ^^
Thx for testing
Nope, there is no difference between r4736 and r4728 with DSP LLE plugin. DSound is as non-listenable as ever, OpenAL pretty good if it wasn't for the low FPS. Scan Visor also stopped working with r4736, where it worked with r4728. Or maybe just a difference with Orleans' and WhiteZero's builds.

DSP HLE is as mute as ever expect for cutscenes. Using OpenAL it sounds listenable, just choppy. (Oh, the fix is in the r4737? FFFUUU-)

It seems that FPS still stays at around 10-30 FPS, no matter what you configure.

EDIT:
Trying Direct3D9 plugin now. Scan Visor WORKS with it, so I guess it's just something to do with graphics plugin configuration.
Trying with OpenGL now, intro video is slow as heck, 3-5 FPS, 3 most of the time. The next time I tried it with same plugin and same settings it was around 20-30, wonder what that was all about.

EDIT 2:
YES, got it!
EFB Copy has to be "Copy EFB to system RAM (real)" in order to make Scan Visor work!
Works with both plugins.

After making my way through the first area I got an error and Dolphin crashed. (See the attachment)

EDIT 3:
Just tried r4742, the sound is the same, HLE only works with the intro cutscene.
good testing. Keep yr eyes on this one Smile
when the games themselves run perfectly, I guess, it won't be far that a dev takes care of that multiple dol support
