2 stars is right. The rating is specifically for the unmodified builds with an unmodified game. In that scenario, you can't get past the main menus. Plus the wiki describes how to make it work on the page. I think the wiki rating is exactly what it needs to be.
Quote:Don't rely on the Wiki. It's often outdated. Metroid Prime 3 works very fine.
With your own compiled build of ES-Launch or DOL-swapping, and with saving problems for Prime 3. Assuming that save problem is still around... it is right?
That depends. Are you talking about problems with saving, or with save states?
I haven't had any problems so far with saving MPT3, as in in the game like you would if you were playing on a real Wii. However, using save states is completely broken.
You answered for me. In-game saves are functional. Savestates may be broken that's right. They should be avoided anyway

I rectified that for you.
Should work fine with skid's ES_LAUNCH builds. The best solution of course is to play standalone versions
so, like the first two games, the trilogy version of corruption also runs slightly worse than the original? i suppose there's no reason to play the trilogy version of corruption anyway since it doesn't add any new effects or textures. the only upside is that bryyo has a soundtrack extension that's really nice.

From my experience, it's exactly as bad, not worse. The standalone MP3 also has the save state problem.
So savestates are broken and the main game is fine? With ES Builds being such a pain I haven't tested it in a while, and I don't have the stand alone MP3. Alright, I'll update the wiki with that info.
What happens when using savestates in MP3? Crash? Lockup? Any idea when saving was corrected? Last I tried was ES_Launch 3.0-200, and it was broken so...
This is what happens when you load from a save state in MPT3:
(07-05-2012, 04:02 AM)eyeonus Wrote: [ -> ]I think the majority of the crashes I'm getting are reproducible. For instance, I've noticed that if I start the game and load a savestate, bringing up the visor select screen, attempting to save, or pressing 1 or 2 on the WiiMote (, anything that brings up a different screen, actually), all cause the game to crash. The game also crashes when pressing Home, whether having loaded a savestate or not.
I've made a video of the crashes. In game, this at at the first appearance of Ridley, after seeing your first PED Trooper take out some space pirates, but it doesn't matter where the savestate is made, loading it causes freezing:

Doh, right, should have seen that. Thanks.

It might be a specific issue to NTSC version. Something like that was mentioned before MaJoR updated the wiki

For the curious.
Quote:=== Saving in NTSC release ===
In the NTSC version saving is broken and causes freezes.
Anyway, it's sounding more and more like I need to just try this game myself again... Time for some good old Dol injection! ...*whimper*
Tested Metroid Prime Trilogy Dol-injected with 3.0-735. Saving and loading via the in-game saving is working correctly on my NTSC version of Trilogy. It doesn't work on the latest ES_Build that's available (3.0-200), so I wonder when it was fixed... Anyway, savestates didn't work so well. It worked at first, then I walked down a hall and BZZT. Literally, BZZT, with LLE even. The same area worked just fine without savestates, so definitely sounds like the savestates. Seems like it's screwing up the game's dynamic loading, actually...
I might play the game further, but man... It's demanding. It hanged during the "identity code" entry with HLE, and the game has to have EFB to Ram for even basic scanning. EFB to Ram and LLE on thread is enough to bring even my computer down. It has alot of other little problems too. Like prime 1 and 2, it has little hangs during dynamic loading. Nothing gamebreaking, but annoying. Speed up disc transfer rate helps fix that. And it has tons of wiimote lag, which is fixed by alternate wiimote timings. Plus, I ran into some audio problems
even with LLE. Anyone else experience any these?
Also, I'm assuming that since the games have had the same problems before, that the MP3 original and Trilogy will be the same now as well. So I'm going to update the wiki for both.

Yes. Metroid Prime series makes part of these games that have sound issues even with LLE. As well as RE series, COD series, Splinter Cell series, etc. But these games are so demanding that no system is powerful enough to emulate them perfectly
