Hi, I'm using a gamecube controller with a mayflash adapter to play twilight princess on the Dolphin emulator (ver 4.0). I've mapped all the buttons and they work correctly both in game and in the controller settings of Dolphin but the main stick and c stick aren't recognized. In the controller settings they're gray and don't have the red dot on them, don't respond to movement and don't work in game. I've calibrated the controller for windows (I'm using windows 7 64 bit), reinstalled dolphin, downloaded the latest drivers for the mayflash adapter but nothing works. My computer says the GC controller is working properly and the sticks respond in the calibration menu (as seen in the gif below) but they don't work in game. If anyone has had this problem or knows a solution please let me know.

Grab teh latest and greatest dev builds of Dolphin here: https://dolphin-emu.org/download/ Better speed and accuracy, and also changes to the controller stuff may fix your issue.

Did that but it doesn't seem to change anything.
Hmmm..... Under the device dropdown, what are the options you can choose from?

I choose SDL/1/USB GamePad
What else can you choose?

I can choose DInput/0/USB GamePad and DInput/0/Keyboard Mouse as well.
DInput/0/USB GamePad is the better choice. Also make sure you have the latest mayflash drivers.

No, I haven't gotten to play yet because I have to use the sticks to start the game and I can't do that.
I can choose DInput/0/USB GamePad and DInput/0/Keyboard Mouse as well.
Choosing Dinput is just another way to read the commands coming in. And since it's the /0/ object, it is the port 1 of your controller adapter, and what you should be using. You'll maybe have to remap the stick buttons in the gcpad settings, but it should solve your issue.
