Full Version: Is AA and AF done by the CPU in Dolphin?

The last story is the single most demanding Wii game that I know of that doesn't require special settings to run. It's a lot more demanding to emulate than XC in every way. It's just the way the game engine is setup.
Just tested this on my end with the latest build (4.0-3644) and using D3D, I get this usage with 3xIR, no AA and 16xAF. I'm using 3xIR because 4x drops me a little. AF however does not drop me at all.

Using the settings listed above, I get around 64FPS unthrottled with EFB to RAM in the first cave after selecting new game. With EFB to Texture I get around 108. Adding in the highest AA option available I'm still above 30FPS in that first cave with EFB to Texture. I haven't tested beyond that admittedly (I will though if someone provides me a save game).
