She wants to use a mac for a dolphin rig because she likes some video editing software that is apparently not available for windows. I asked if she can learn to use one of the windows alternatives instead since that would open up better options. She accused me of trolling and told me to fuck off. I elaborated on why I think this is a good idea. This is the entirety of what has happened so far in this thread. There is no PC vs. Mac arguing going on. I have not even mentioned the merits of either nor has she. I don't know why you brought this up. I would really like to end this metadiscussion and wait for a response from her.

It has to start somewhere and your initial response to her was not a helpful one, you merely suggested to force herself into learning a program just for the sake of switching to PC and using Dolphin, which implies the start of it. If you like to be cussed at for no reason then be my guess. End of discussion for me.
Mac-exclusives haven't been the industry standard for a long time now. If industry users (that prioritise productivity over all) are using Windows software, then it's likely it's because it's better, so the OP may actually have an easier time after a switch. While it's a matter of OP's preferences and their money that's being spent, this doesn't mean anyone's trying to start an argument. Everything that's been suggested looks like it's in the OP's best interests. The initial response was supposed to be helpful, and the OP forcing themselves to try new software is reasonably likely to end up with an OP preferring a new bit of software.
