Yes, because this is testing software so they are collecting almost everything and anything in order to improve it.

The full Win10 release will probably have a more reasonable agreement.
Can any of you Win10 users see this emoji (Chrome users need not apply).
That's my killer feature.Big Grin

Is that implying I can or can't see it in chrome?
Chrome doesn't support emoji. There's this plugin but that's not using the OS's fonts.
But I can see it

or maybe not, I guess that isn't the thing down below
Chromoji completely destroyed something. I can't remember what it destroyed, but it was bad enough to need to uninstall the plugin.
Digging up this thread, have some things to note for people on the fence as to whether or not they should jump during the preview even now.

- Any games that use GFWL will crash on start. The only fix is to mod out GFWL, which is not possible for many games. (fun note: a friend of mine and I wanted to play GTAIV together online, but xliveless disables multiplayer to prevent cheating and the other method doesn't get rid of GFWL. She's on windows 10, so, pretty much, we won't be able to play together unless she goes back down. I have windows 8.1 and 10 both installed for this very reason, don't overwrite windows 7/8/8.1 if you move up)
- MSI Afterburner does not work. I don't know why, but it makes sense.
- Searching for help on any topic on google will redirect to stuff about Windows 8. There is also no place to go for help officially for windows 10.

feel free to add anything you think is important, we've had the preview for a while so it only makes sense to try and help out.

Honestly, I don't know. I suppose it kind of depends on how it is received, if it's as big of a fuckup as Windows 8 was, then probably not for a while. But if people consistently say it's better than Windows 7 and I start having compatibility issues, then quite probably.
One thing is certain: if you have an Optimus-enabled laptop and want to use DX11 only apps, stay away from Windows 10 Technical Preview: nVidia drivers doesn't work properly and all apps/games trying to use DX11 crash...
I'll pass. The only reason I use Windows at all is because Wine isn't so promising for the few Windows based games that I play, I get much better performance in those just using the native OS. I used to dual boot W7 and Ubuntu 11.10 a few years ago, but that was on a desktop with 3 HDDs, so I had one HDD for each OS and a 3rd for storage. I'm way too lazy to partition my HDD and dual boot my current laptop, plus I'm satisfied with it now that it's running a clean install of W7 instead of 8.1 and Toshiba's garbage bloatware.

My next desktop rig is definitely going to be Ubuntu only.
