Not sure if this is the appropriate section but I was wondering which game would be better to emulate using dolphin. Legend of Zelda twilight princess for wii or gamecube? I have a Wii and nunchunk remote that can be paired to my computer via bluetooth thanks to the xwiimote library, so if I choose the wii version in the end I will have compatible controllers. For gamecube, I could always use my PS3 controller which has built in support on Linux. Which game would be better to emulator though? Which has less issues, or looks better when emulating on dolphin? Does one game have extra content than another? Or is this all just subjective and they both work fine?

I did some benchmarking tests on my machine before I decided to play this title a while ago.
The gamecube version ran much better with my setup. (core i5 2500K @ 4.7ghz, Nvidia GTX660ti)
Also, what should be mentioned is the sensor bar. Unless you have a usb sensor bar, I would recommend using your ps3 controller for the gamecube ver. :)
As far as I know, the only difference between the two games is the orientation of the game itself.
Everything is mirrored on the Wii version, to comply with right-handed link/wiimote users.
And the gamecube version has just a few more tiny bugs that you won't notice unless you look for them. :)

What do you mean by tiny bugs? Graphical bugs? If so, that is fine, I am more worried about bugs that affect things like saving, gameplay, etc. I have a sensor bar....although I think I am leaning more to the gamecube version because I dont feel like slashing away with the wii remote. As of now I am just going to go with the gamecube version. Quick question though, I backed up my twilight princess save on the wii many years ago, I still have it to this day. Is it possible for dolphin to read the save file or are dolphin save files different?

Finally, while the GameCube version only allowed for two items to be equipped at once, the Wii version was even worse. Every item in use had to be set to the B Buttion. While three items could be placed on the directional pad for quicker access, only the item equipped to B was usable.
It's pretty trivial to patch the gamecube version for proper widescreen using an AR code (not dolphin's crappy default widescreen hack).
The only thing in that list that scratches my head is the GC 480p note. "Only if you have an older model". Why is that? Did they remove progressive from the newer models?
Not really surprising that people didn't use it when the cable was more expensive than any game.
Nintendo had some proprietary chip inside the cable, wasn't that? As far as I know, nobody reverse engineered that chip...
My GameCube is from 2002, so I guess that means I could use progressive.
