What if I would only play GC games? Is it at least enough for them?
What if I OC it?
Maybe, if you get the beefiest APU you can
depends on which game
you may get a few more FPS but thats it.
Well to any that is interested, I have been doing some testing with some games I had lying around (because my Wii is in a box) and I am happy to report that on the desktop model of the AMD A10 6800K I have been getting full speed emulation with most of the game I've thrown at Dolphin. Wii Emulation seems to work fine as long as the game doesn't have an animated overlay (Mario Kart Wii in the menus for example bog it down a little) and gamecube emulation seems to be near flawless (minor hiccups graphically) so far with Wind waker and sonic riders.
Also no overclocking here, the APU by stock runs at 4 GHZ
Ive got one an A10-7850K here. If the OP wants me to test a certain game (given I have it), I can test that game for him. just tell me which (ive got most of the popular titles, except for xenosaga and last story. those are on my yet-to-buy list).

Can you test twilight Princess?
In Hyrule Field (later part) of course , other places pretty much run full speed on most low-mid range CPUs

k, ill do it tomorrow. gc version though
EDIT: quick test: 1080p: ~21-25fps on hyrule field
native resolution: ~28fps on hyrule field
Okay, here is my assessment of TP (GC) on a A10-7850K (CPU@4.1GHz, GPU@960MHz):
using the recommended settings from the Wiki (LLE, EFB to RAM, Cache Accuracy 1), it is only fully playable at 1x or 1.5x IR on OpenGL, outperforming D3D by quite a bit. The emulation speed (in %) at different IR is as follows:
IR | OGL | D3D
1x | 109 | 96
1.5 | 107 | 88
2x | 96 | 85
2.5 | 91 | 78
3x | 84 | 69
4x | 62 | 61
Now, if we drop mini-map support (EFB to Texture, Fast Cache), it seems fully playable at even 4x IR with D3D outperforming OGL this time around!
IR | OGL | D3D
1x | 135 | 137
1.5 | 134 | 136
2x | 133 | 134
2.5 | 131 | 130
3x | 125 | 128
4x | 110 | 118
All other settings are as follows:
GFX:
AA, AF, Per-Pixel Lighting, Skip EFB Access, Disable Destination Alpha Cache and everything in the Advanced Tab was unchecked or turned off
Ignore Format Changes, External Frame Buffer (Disable), OMP Texture Decoder and Fast Depth Calc were all checked
GameConfig:
Umodified, except for the Hyrule Field patch that was chcked.
Main:
Dual Core and Idle Skip. No Framelimit. Jit Recompiler, DSP LLE (and on separate thread)
P.S. I used my PAL copy in 60Hz mode
P.P.S. DDR3-2400MHz Dual Channel RAM CL11
P.P.P.S. 2x AA D3D impact seems to be minimal. OGL untested AA performance.
It seems like a GPU bottleneck. So Kaveri when Overclocked is fine for Dolphin.
Is LLE even needed?
Those framerates seem pretty high for TP. I'm guessing they were taken somewhere with a low load. The hyrule field results are about what I would expect. Not quite fullspeed but not completely awful. Some overclocking paired with a discrete graphics card might be able to just barely push it to fullspeed.
Still it makes little sense for OP to insist on getting an AMD APU for dolphin when there are Intel cpus that cost 1/3 as much and consume 1/2 as much power yet perform better and can overclock by 50% instead of 10-20%.

He posted the speed percentage and NOT the framerate, plus he used the recent speed hack for the game. The speed hack plus all the other optimizations since dolphin 4 make those speed numbers believable imo. LLE is not needed though.
