Hey there, I'm building a new gaming PC with a budget and I want to know the best processor I can have with the price.

Currently I'm looking for a AMD A10-6800K (recommended by a couple of friends)

The full list goes:
Motherboard: Asus F2A85-M PRO Micro ATX FM2
RAM: G.Skill RipjawsX DDR3 1600 Mhz 8 GB
CPU: AMD A10 6800K Black Edition 4.4 GHz FM2-
GPU: Palit GTX 660 Ti JetStream edition 2048MB
OS: Microsoft Windows 7 Professional - OEM / 64-bit

If you have a better suggestion for Mobo/CPU for roughly the same price, go ahead.
That's pretty horrible build . If you want to build an APU system , you will have to dump that Nvidia card and get an AMD GPU because APU's iGPU can crossfire
Btw , getting a dedicated GPU for an APU is pointless .
Okay, but what should I use then? I was planning for an i7, but my wallet has it's limitations. The AMD APU was the cheapest choice.
Not all i7 are good for Dolphin , some i7 are even weaker than lastest i3
The 3 best CPUs for Dolphin atm are i7 4790k @ 4.7GHz , i5 4690k @ 4.7GHz and Pentium 20th Anniversary G3258 @ 4.7GHz . Since Dolphin is a dual core application , those CPUs have similar performance
See , Unofficial Dolphin Benchmark

AMD CPUs usually have multi-cores but lack of performance per core . Therefore , AMD CPUs are good at multi-threaded performance and bad at single/dual threaded performance
Base on our official Benchmark , the fastest 8 cores FX-8350 @ 5.0GHz (suicide overclock) is still slower than dual core Intel i3 4130 @ 3.4GHz

If you live in US , you can get the little monster Pentium G3258 + MSI Z97 for only $100 or even less (after debate) . Pentium doesn't need extra cooling for overclocking .

If you don't then just pair the Pentium with Asrock Z97 Anniversary
AMD A10 6800k is fast enough for most games but demanding games are out of the question . Nvidia GTX 800 series is about to be released soon , it's not wise to buy Kepler GPU atm

Big thanks to you.
I'm not building the PC exclusively for Dolphin; I edit videos, in which the rendering requires multiple cores and I look forward to playing modern, rather demanding games where more that 2 cores help a lot, so I think I'm going for i5 4690K, despite it being 100€ more expensive than A10 6800K.

Side question: does i5 4690K perform well at stock clock? I'm not good at overclocking and I don't trust my CPU cooler, it being quite a cheap one.
If you don't overclock then just get Xeon E3-1230V3 (basically an i7 4770 4 cores 8 threads without integrated GPU , it's as cheap as i5 4690k but it has the performance as an i7 4770) + Dirt cheap Asrock B85 mobo
i5 4690k or Xeon (stock) is twice as fast as A10 6800k in Dolphin
Edit : not GTX 800 series but GTX 900 series is about to be released soon .I forgot Nvidia has skipped their 800 series . GTX 900 series is based on latest Nvidia Maxwell architecture . Only 2 GPU Maxwell are available atm : GTX 750 and GTX 750ti . GTX 750ti power consumption is 2.5 times lower than GTX 660 Ti and it's a very fast GPU
The Xeon you recommended is not available here in Finland atm, dunno if it's gone out of market or is upcoming sometime soon. Also I can get a GTX 660 Ti cheaper than a 750 Ti, and to my knowledge GTX 660 Ti is slightly better than a 750 Ti. Also I won't worry about power consumption, I'm going for a 600w PSU to have upgradeability to better processors and GPUs in the future.
