Pics you provided just show smaller package, not chip die area. As I said I need pics without heatspreader.

They added cache coherency protocol. It does not add new instructions for software to use.

Well, is it simpler than making a whole new CPU on the smaller fab size?

Would you rather have a picture of the CPU die itself? Like so?: https://marcan.st/transf/broadway_annotated.jpg
Because its either the heatspreader on or that, and no one spent the time to do a comparison of the old and new without heat spreader that I've been able to find :/

Ok, that makes sense
I should just put tueidj in the dev group on these forums, too many idiots who think they know better when they have no idea what they're talking about and haven't ever written software for a GC or a Wii or a Wii U (fwiw, tueidj is one of the few people that has probably done all three).
Yes, that would be helpful (says the one who thought he knew better than tueidj)

That was not my intention, I made this thread to to get an idea on how the process works and get a better understanding.

Also can any body explain what VARIABLE cache means? I never heard of it before.

tueidj Wrote:The differences between espresso and broadway are a bit more extensive (mainly due to the new cores and variable L2 configurations)

As told by Google, "not consistent or having a fixed pattern; liable to change OR simply being able to change", so what he means is that the L2 configurations can change.
Espresso has 3 possible L2 configurations: 2MB, 512KB or 256KB. The 2MB config is used for core 1 while the 256KB config is used for core 0 when in wii mode (to emulate Broadway).
Thank you guys. +Rep.
We don't have rep here; it's all done off post-count. The theory is that if you've got 1000 posts and don't know anything you'll have told somebody something very wrong at some point and will have been banned or something for being a nuisance.
Meanwhile DJBarry004 posts nothing but "make sure you're using the latest dev build" 30 times a day and gets mistaken for someone knowledgeable.
No, he also tells people to fill out their profile with their specs.
