it comes down to this question. r7 250x crossfire vs 7950.

Any help appriciated
Looking at the game debate website i would say that the 7950 is the better GPU

http://www.game-debate.com/hardware/inde...ompare=gpu
playing zelda twilight princess i get around 22-30 fps. now fps has to do with my gpu. so if i do get the 7950 then that'll increase my fps correct ?
Dolphin doesn't work with Crossfire , SLi , dual GPU
7950 is basically R9 280 which is a high-end GPU
R7 250X is low-end GPU

Nope
In Dolphin , faster single threaded CPU = faster speed . See Dolphin Benchmark here
Faster GPU = higher internal resolution and Anti-aliasing
https://dolphin-emu.org/docs/faq/#which-gpu-do-i-need
but that has go to be wrong, because when i increase the resolution in game the fps drops. so the gpu does relate to fps no ?
If you increase your internal resolution and you get a fps drop then yes it is to do with your gpu. If you are your at the lowest internal resolution and still have slow performance then its likely to do with your cpu. What AMD cpu are you using for dolphin?

From what i seen on this forum zelda twilight princess is a demanding game so you may have fps drops regards, that cpu may not be enough anyway.
oh and my cpu is absolute trash right now. its the amd a8-6500, but im goona get the gtx 760.

then eventually get the i5 or i7.
If you just want a Dolphin rig, go with the Pentium Anniversary Unlocked edition G3258, and then overclock it really high. If you want to do other things, get the i5-4690K and overclock. Or wait till 5th gen a bit later this year.
okay thanks ahaha. tbh im trying to find a cool looking good graphics card with only 2 6 pin slots. any ideas
Well, the cards I can think of off the top of my head are the GTX 750 and GTX 750 Ti, don't really know AMD cards
