StrugglingHere

Hello everyone. I've been playing Project M on Dolphin netplay since February with no issue until recently. Starting 4 days ago I get constant "lag." While playing with someone over netplay the game with just pause a moment, and then move at normal speed. It will do this 'pause' constantly, over and over. Don't know exactly what you would call that. Lag spike would be the word i'd use. The game works perfectly fine locally (not over netplay), also works fine if I host a netplay room and then hit start game without anyone else in it.

Windows has a program called Resource Monitor. This is what it looks like when the lag occurs http://imgur.com/u4RC4gP . Those huge dips in the network graph are when the pause/lag occurs.

What i have tried: Plugging directly into the modem, closing every program i could think of, restarting the router and modem and pc, different windows user profile.

My internet runs fine other wise, steam games play online without issue.

I am just really out of ideas here. It just started so randomly. I would really appreciate any and all ideas here. Let me know if there is any other information you need.

Thank you!

specs:
intel core i7 920 bloomfield @ 2.67ghz
asus p6t deluxe v2 mother board
12gb DDR3 tripple channel memory
nvidia geforce gtx 760
dolphin 4.0-648
dolphin 4.0-652 (i had 652 installed and thought i'd try a different version. When i downloaded 648 it had all of the settings already there. Just mentioning in case someone thinks i should try a different version with a cleaner install.)

update 01: Got the game setup and running on another computer. Took the ethernet cable straight out of my computer and plugged it into this new one. Game did not get the lag spikes my PC is getting. Rules out the internet connection. Must be hardware or software related. Doesnt Dolphin have any sort of log functionality that could help me here?

update 02 7/15: So I ran the program LatencyMon while playing.

Don't know how to use this to help myself though.

update 03 7/19: Wanted to conclude this incase anyone stumbles onto it in the future. I updated my ethernet adapter driver and after doing so the lag still existed but was less prevalent. The next day the lag came back. The next day the lag was gone entirely. I am not really sure what fixed the issue, but my netplay experience is back to normal. Good luck to you in trying to solve your problem.

I wanted to say that I feel like I am suffering from the same thing.

It is VERY hard to record this as it seems to not impact recordings that much, but it is very very noticeable while playing.

If you look at when I down-throw Link it gets a little choppy and slow-motiony.

If you look at this video too it is much harder to spot them but I pause the game shortly after they occur everytime (even in that video I find it hard to see, mostly because its 30fps when I recorded in 60).

But you can hear the audio skipping at the start.

I have an i5 3570k and a 7850HD.
