Now testing SFA with r6187; results seem almost identical to early 6100s. Will test further, moar posts from meh later

But it IS fixed! Well, sort of... Blaster and I mentioned long ago that cutscene audio is desynced from the video; it plays at full speed, no matter what FPS/VPS numbers you have.

The only thing that I can suggest is to check your computer again and
make absolutely sure that you have the most recent version of DirectX, your graphics card drivers, and the Visual C++ runtimes.
Again, this thread is for discussing topics directly related to Star Fox Adventures. Have you asked anyone on the
SVN Revision Discussion forum or the
Support forum? (Also, read this:

(09-03-2010, 11:16 AM)damasta Wrote: [ -> ][how can I] speed up my SFA game
First, try setting frameskip to 1. (see above)
Also, try playing around with different settings. Check/uncheck the "Enable OpenCL" or "Enable CPU->EFB access" boxes, for starters. Go through all the graphics plugin settings and general settings, one by one, to see if changing any of them gives you more speed.
Thanks for the tip on locking threads, by the way. I'll try that out on my machine.
@Xtreme2damax: Well, well... r6187 lets me past the Nintendo logo under D3D9 without the patch! Huzzah!
Doesn't crash, but it looks like it gives the same error boxes as before. Something that D3D11, incidentally, has never done. Hmm...
Honestly ,always unchecked "Use Panic Handlers" to prevent annoying messages

Important quote from Dolphin tooltip:
Use Panic Handlers: "Show a message box when a potentially serious error has occurred. Disabling this may avoid annoying and non-fatal messages, but it may also mean that Dolphin suddenly crashes without any explanation at all." (emphasis added)
I will assume that the ultimate intention of the Dolphin developers is to have Star Fox (and other games) running completely error-free, and to do so through a careful debugging and testing process.
Disabling panic handlers may work fine for someone who uses Dolphin but is "unable" to give back to the community. Speaking as a C++ developer and frequent software debugger, however, I contend that deliberately hiding "annoying" messages and dealing with inexplicable crashes makes the debugging and testing process pure hell.
All problems need to be dealt with, no matter how "annoying". I do not put duct tape over the annoying "Check Engine" light of my car, nor do I give my washing machine a swift kick whenever it makes an annoying grinding sound -- but I digress.
Incidentally, for those of you who fall under the aforementioned "I want Star Fox working, and I want it NOW" category, you are in luck.
As I have mentioned several times, Star Fox Adventures now seems almost perfect -- a few minor glitches remain, and are steadily being worked out.
For more information, re-read Blaster's post, as well as my initial post.
I, personally, would be delighted if many other persons would confirm that Star Fox is working as superbly as it has for Blaster and I. And by "confirm", I mean to say "mirror the level of detail that Blaster and I provide when you recount your personal testing experience".
Undetailed responses are not helpful to anyone. Unless, of course, they say something similar to "I did everything you said, exactly as you said it, using SVN revision ####, and it works!".
Thank you, and good day.
your right.

and it works with my computer except for the frequent
slowdowns and the cut scene audio thing. So for all of you that say it does not work, post all errors relating to star fox here, keep the posts to star fox and if the error is not about star fox but only comes upon loading star fox say it anyways. thanks for all the help here. I use the latest revisions, I check the site like every 5 days and dl the latest and replace my old one keeping my save file.

Thank you! Now, a few more quick things:
- Which video plug-in are you using, and how many FPS is it giving you?
- Does using frameskip speed things up a bit?
- Do you notice the same tiny graphical issues previously mentioned? (Shadows on moving characters/objects, Fox/Krystal's eyes after collecting a Krazoa Spirit)

You're welcome!
Can't tell you right now how many FPS I am getting but I can later, and I am using DX9, the only gfx errors I had gotten was the shadowing was off it looked all distorted and krystal and foxes hair looked all fuzzy I mean really frizzy and fuzzy. If you have a GFX card lie mine you could turn on the lowest setting of AA I want to say and it makes the GFX look nicer and brighter. Frameskip did nothing with the speed for me but it might for you.
I a few hours I will post my settings that I have and you can try it and see if it helps. Note: I will be going into every GFX option and setting so be warned there will be a lot of into. Note: Maybe some screen shots

to help

Same things have been happening with D3D11; those little glitches have been there since before r6000. The hanging/crashing and a few graphics issues have been fixed for D3D9, but I still prefer D3D11.
It's slightly faster, and it hasn't ever given a single error message -- the only alert boxes I remember getting were FIFO warnings (I keep forgetting to change that on each SVN...).
Fox and Krystal are
supposed to be fuzzy; they're foxes!

AA = anti-aliasing, right? I don't know about "brighter", but smoothed edges on 3D models always look "nicer".
SFA is looking pretty spectacular regardless; I think I'll keep it turned off, just for more FPS. (Note to self: get better CPU next time)

Excuse me?
"Nothing"? Not one extra VPS? Not one extra percentage point for the "SPEED" measurement (title bar, beside FPS and VPS)?
A frameskip of only 1, as I mentioned, gave me at least 25% more speed. As far as I know, it did so by reducing the number of frames that the emulated GPU and/or real GPU had to render, thereby reducing the number of calculations being done (or attempting to be done).
I shall now silently contemplate your nonsensical situation of having no speedup whatsoever.

I mean I did not notice any difference there may be a difference but I don't notice it, I may have to get back on that and check to see if I can see the difference. about fox and krystal I know that but there not smooth textured its like the fuzzy texture that shows they are foxes is more stretched if you know what I mean.
