Well obviously not if you already have the Plus, but OP doesnt...

Also OP, the cooler you chose performs between the Plus (better than the Plus) and the Evo (worse than the Evo).

Good choice!
you better make sure you at least have the room for the cpu cooler, it's fairly large and "may" block ram slots, either way, good choice still
I´m not sure if whether I should use the thermal paste it comes with, or one I bought separately with 30% silver, EVGA brand
EVGA makes some good products, try the EVGA, i don't really know if there's a difference between any thermal paste or not
If you don't already have a decent cooler or you only have the stock cooler, get this one. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835103099 and use this thermal paste. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA4DA1GN6641&cm_re=arctic_silver_5-_-35-100-007-_-Product Like others have said before, you should not worry about Dolphin as a base line for a cooler. You'll want to get a very good cooler (for air cooling) that can absorb and disperse as much heat as possible as quickly as possible which is where the thermal paste comes into play as well. Those two are very near top of the line for keeping your CPU cool for just air flow and this cooler has a huge CPU compatibility so you should be fine. But you should never skip out on a few dollars on a cooler and paste, you'll want to make your CPU run as cool as possible and have it last longer as well as generally perform better, free from any over heating stress. I use those two with an Intel 4770K and my temps with everything on a full load is roughly 45c, and that's it.
Please don't use Arctic Silver 5. It's horrible and old. Get Noctua NT-H1, Arctic MX-4, or something compareable
Uhm, it's no where near horrible or old. They're all within the same margin of error, at best one of those would be 3c cooler. http://www.maximumpc.com/article/features/geek_tested_17_thermal_pastes_face?page=0,1 It's more of a matter of preference and maybe "cure time" but even when fully "cured" it only lowers temps by 1c, maybe 2c at best.
Arctic Silver 5 has a burn in period no modern thermal paste has.
That's what I was referring to as "cure time" where it takes some time for it to settle in properly. And that's only because of what the paste itself is made of. But like I also said, that is another difference of 1c to 2c cooler after it's all said and done.
Yeah, and that's why you should get a newer thermal paste.
