I've been using this rig to play Dolphin for quite a while now and it hasn't been a problem, with an i5 3570k before, OCed to 3.8GHz my temperatures always stayed in the 50's and while idle it stays at 31C but now they are going up to 70's and 80's when I run the emulator. Could this mean I need to change thermal paste/CPU fan? If not, what could it be?
If you haven't made any changes to the system then it could be a lot of other things, such as ambient temperature (remember it's summer now), dust buildup. What kind of paste and fan do you have?
Stock fan and paste haha, the only change i've done to my pc is formatting it some weeks ago but that's it really
I'm surprised it's not hitting 90 on an OC with stock fan. But yes I'd recommend an aftermarket fan/paste. I don't know how you managed to keep that thing in 50s with an OC on stock fan hah.
