my madcatz xbox controller ceases to function on 4.0 1875 but works fine on 4.2 stable. settings are matched up perfectly for both versions 98% positive its the software, not my hardware.
There is no such thing as 4.2 stable. It's 4.0.2.
Now, have you tried any development builds between those? And post a screenshot of your gcpad and/or emulated wiimote configuration windows please.
Why would you want it to work on an older version anyways? If there is a stable version I'd start there... Going back to an older unstable seems a bit odd? I have seen issues like this before and I just had to delete the joypad.ini and recreate it.
Older unstable builds? I said to try development builds between release 4.0.2 and development build 4.0-1875.
Show your GCPad configuration.
My guess is you've configured your controller with SDL rather than XInput.

ok, 4.0.2. also 4.0-1875 was released yestarday so old isn't the problem.
