I'm wondering if it will be worth getting, to replace/supplement my current controller.

The C-stick has been redesigned, I was never a fan of the small plastic stub. The main stick, on the other hand, has also been standardized; this means they removed the little ridges, which in my opinion made it superior to the newer designs. At least I'm glad they kept the octagonal design for the joysticks.

In the end, I think the DPad will be the deciding factor here... Although now that I think of it, I barely use it. But maybe it's because of its bad quality...

I'll just hold off until more reviews are available, and a definite comparison can be made.

I can't get my WIIU, and one of these.

Watching the invitational last night was amazing!

No it's a whole Wii pad made to look like/be used as a GC pad :p
I sure hope it is.

Those are not official controllers. They are 3rd party controllers made by PDP. They do not plug into GameCube controller ports, they plug into the bottom of a wiimote, as shown in the image: they are plugged into matching wiimotes.

Good news: third-party accessory manufacturer PDP is working with Nintendo to produce the Wired Fight Pad, a controller designed after the original, fan-favorite GameCube controller.

The Wired Fight Pad will connect via a Wii Remote's bottom port, so you'll already need to own said Remote to use the Fight Pad. The good news is, that means it's also compatible with the Wii. The Wired Fight Pad will work with any of that system's games that support the Classic Controller or Classic Controller Pro.

The Wired Fight Pad is set to release alongside Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, with an estimated price of $24.99. We've been told to expect Smash sometime this winter.

The Nintendo-licensed GameCube controllers were shown on the E3 show floor yesterday and will come with a choice of three different character motifs – Yoshi, Mario and Peach.
OH- EWWUH.
What made them want to do that?! I mean they still look great and probably still super useful but guh. I wonder then, does the wiimote have enough power output to power the rumble in those controllers?
Also I wonder if they'll work in Gamecube games when on regular wii...

Edit: just noticed the extra buttons- so i guess that might be part of the reason, hah.
Still wonder if they'll work in regular GC games. Hoping they will because woo wireless!

They won't. It's a classic controller shaped like a gc controller.

Huh. Well, bummer.
Oh well. At least they'll feel good.
And now it's official.

Surprise surprise, it looks exactly like what Nintendo showed earlier. Tongue $30 is pretty good considering. The Pro controller is twice that. Of course you need the $20 adapter, but meh.
