Oh Nice! This is a super smart money-grab by nintendo.
This also means virtual console is going to be a million times better.
REALLY hope those are just USB- and will work in any PC.
Not that anyone can't get 3rd party NGC to PC usb adapters, but it definitely would be nice to have an official brand to use.
Already looking forward to this, thanks for pointing it out :)

They are USB, which means this would be perfect for Dolphin,
newly manufactured Gamecube controllers too

Moved to Delfino Plaza.
Anyway, I think this is great. It's a nod to smash fans and gamecube support on the Wii U. And new gamecube controllers is great as well, gamecube controllers have shot up in price as of late.
Of course, the Wii U already supports the Classic Controller Pro. Which is the best Nintendo controller ever.

This is a strange move by Nintendo but I like it. I wonder if they crippled the usb descriptor like xbox did so it wont wonk on a pc? Well at least not without a driver.

The first XBox was released before anything was expected to be plug-and-play on Windows (I distinctly remember having to install a driver and then reboot for each and every pendrive I used), and the 360 controller works fine under anything with a new enough version of XInput to support the +-Z axis being the triggers (so anything newer than XP) right out of the box.

Man, this is going to be so good when someone makes a proper PC driver for it. I've got a couple of Mayflash adapters, but I'm ready to drop them in a heartbeat for this baby. :]

It's nice, but why two USB ports? It doesn't make sense...
