Full Version: Wii menu channel switching

Hey guys

So another issue that annoys me with Dolphin..

I love using the Wii menu on Dolphin 3.5 and I'm able to easily go back and forth between the Mii channel and the Wii menu, however I always play my games on Dolphin 4 (latest revision) instead as all info is saved in the documents folder plus there's a great increase in FPS for many games. The issue is that Dolphin 4.0 doesn't support channel switching AT ALL like Dolphin 3.5 does Sad Whenever I launch the Mii channel directly within Dolphin 4 or try to access it from the Wii menu, it just results in a black screen (indicating it got stuck loading).

I looked at the log and this line might help because it's the only difference between 4.0 and 3.5 (3.5 doesn't display this at all when switching channels, it's either a "read" or "write" statement):

35:43:908 Main.cpp:675 N[Wiimote]: Not connected

For further reference, here's the entire log statements from 3.5 when launching the channel directly and returning to the wii menu successfully:

I'm using an emulated wiimote each time (keyboard & mouse approach). I could use my real ones instead but it makes no difference.

Any ideas guys? Thanks..
Known issue - https://code.google.com/p/dolphin-emu/is...il?id=7242

There is no solution at this time. You just need to use the dolphin menu to launch games and channels.
Alright well I really hope it's fixed in later releases. By the way, any chance of getting the Disc channel fully functional? Dolphin 4.0 also seems to get some of the way before reporting:

Main.cpp:675 N[Wiimote]: Not connected

in the log, so it would be awesome if channel switching and loading the games from the Wii Menu were fixed! In the meantime I'll just load everything directly, but yeah it's three different items that are meant to be inter-connected..

Thanks
Same problem. So no, sadly.
Alright well thanks for verifying, I'll just have to wait for future revisions.
OH MY GOD!

Everyone should download the latest revision right now! The channel switching is completely fixed!!! I'm able to load from the Wii menu right into the mii channel, internet channel (which works cause I set up internet on Dolphin) AND the DISC CHANNEL!!! I've been waiting for this for so long! I'll record a video right now of it all working!! Big Grin

Here we go, check it all out! XD https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ojDJaE2RmY8

Btw some more problems: I'm using Photo Channel 1.1 and the photos show up as black each time (I tried saving some screenshots from the Pokemon Rumble channel)

The Wii Shop channel reports "Error Code: 206672 An error has occurred that cannot be resolved at this time. Please try again later. If this continues, please contact your local customer support centre. For contact details, visit support.nintendo.com"

I have a double-up of my Internet and Pokemon Rumble channels, and the second channel for each works but the first doesn't. Is there a way to remove the first (original) channel for each of these?

How do I connect my email account to the Wii's address book? I typed in my address and it said "you must register one another to be able to exchange messages" so I was expecting to receive an email about it, but nothing arrived.

Anyone else getting these problems? Any way around them? Other than those, everything else is working pretty well Smile
