Hi everbody.

I'm having a problem when i'm playing Zelda Twilight Princess (european) for the gamecube on Dolphin.
The game just randomly freezes for no reason. I've played thru also the whole game (finished the Temple of Time part) and just started to get this problem.
Is there anything I can do about it? I've tried v3.0 and 3.5 without any sucess and is using the 3.0 as default.
With 4.0.2 the game won't boot properly (after selected 50 or 60 Hz it goes black for 90% of the time) and if it does i'm having a massive slowdown ingame (mostly Hyrule field).

Hardware:
Intel Core i5 4670k @3.40Ghz
Geforce 8800GT 1GB (also have a GT630 but I think it's moslty crap compared to the ATI Radeon HD4600 which I'm thinking of putting back in)
8 GB of Ram

Software:
Windows 7 x64
Dolphin 3.0 / 3.5 / 4.0.2 and tried 4.0-1458 aswell without any luck booting-wise
Fraps for screenrecording

Video settings:
Direct3D9 backend at 1280x720 (IR set to auto window as i'm playing in fullscreen)
Anistropic filtering set to 2x
Scale EFB copy (as default)
EFB Copy set to RAM with Cache enabled
Fast Minimaps (as default)
Disable Per-Pixel Depth (as default)

Audio settings:
DSP LLE Recomp. with the dsp files from a Wii
DSP LLE on thread (for having constant 30fps in hyrule field and every other place.)

Game settings:
Speed up Disc Transfer Rate (as default checked)
ZTP Hack (as default)
Action Replay code: Widescreen (044558DC 3FE38E39)

Use a newer development version. HLE now has pretty good audio for mostly all games, including Zelda ones.

DSP LLE on Thread most likely causes the crashing. Like I said, use a newer build with OpenGL and HLE, and it should be kinda faster.

Still having the problem with booting the game with newer builds (any after 4.0.2) and the game is not faster, it's slower.
Maybe a build from before the 4.0.2 release? Any suggestions?
I've never heard of that happening before. Try setting everything to default and see if the problem still exists.

Also, your problem is the GPU. It is way to old. Try playing at 1xIR and see if it's any faster
The slowdown in Hyrule field is a widely-known problem and one that I've experienced myself. It's been a while since I played Twilight Princess, but I think I remember Dolphin freezing a couple of times. It's probably just an emulation bug that will be fixed in future releases.

I know about the slowdown but i'm not getting effected by that in 3.0 or 3.5.

I've think I figured the booting problem. By some mistake i've unchecked "Idle skipping" which caused problems while booting.
I don't think the gpu is the problem since everything is running nice under 3.0 and 3.5 but choppier at 4.0 and forward.
Changing the resolution to 1xIR does not change anything.

Anyhow by the old GPU hiracy thread the geforce 8800GT and the Radeon HD4800 was recomended for at least 2xIR.

But this is not the problem. The problem is what I stated in the first post. The game hangs / randomly freezes. Every dolphin after 4.0.2 is slower performenswise and makes the new HLE sound worse. Also Dx11D makes a blue boarded around the map and OpenGL is a little bit slower.
Try single core with idle skipping off and see if it still freezes.
Questions for you. Does the freezing happen on different GPUs as well? Is your system stable? You can verify that with aida64 or other program that test system stability. Also try the following:

1. Update GPUs drivers.
2. Install the latest directX 9.

It happen on the Radeon HD4800 aswell (tried it last night). I've updateded the gpu drivers for both of the cards and even tried the nvidia driver before they messed up dolphin (see facebook post from neobrain on the Dolphin page)

My system appears to be stable. I haven't had a system crash since I've tried to oc for some time ago.

I allways make sure that DirectX is updated. The map issue seems to be caused by setting the anistropic filtering to 2x.
But I will check out aida64.
Both your 8000 series nvidia card and your ATI card don't support opengl 4.4 which is what makes opengl faster in the newer builds. I would suggest putting in your 630 card, making sure your drivers are updated and trying opengl. Your 630 should be faster than your other cards.
