So, I'm very confused about why Dolphin keeps crashing on me. I've tried searching around, but haven't been able to find anything that has actually solved my problem, so I decided to post here.

I've tried playing Twilight Princess and Wind Waker. Both games run beautifully, and then fairly early in the game, Dolphin crashes (not the games themselves). For example, in Twilight Princess, the game crashed right as I was receiving the fishing rod, and in Wind Waker, it crashed right after I got the Hero's clothes. So yeah, incredibly early Tongue

I'm running 4.0.2 on Windows 8 x64 8192MD RAM. Below are my current settings with Dolphin. I am new to this and used settings I'd seen people suggesting online. I would REALLY appreciate it if anyone could help me out!

Thanks a bunch!
You don´t need two threads for this. Stay on the first one you created.

No body answered me, I thought I might get a better response if I posted my Dolphin settings with the original post.
If no one responds, just be patient. It's not like you went a week without a response. The older thread will be closed. Use this one from now on.

Alright, my apologies. I won't do it again.
To try and help you with your problem: can you run the games without crashing if you use the latest development builds (4.0.2 is getting old, considering all the work the devs have done to Dolphin since then)? Can you run the games without crashing if you disable Dual Core mode? Can you run the games without crashing if you enabled Sync GPU thread (right-click TP or WW in Dolphin, then go to Properties)?

Try each and see what happens. Hopefully all you'll need to do is use the latest revision.

I haven't tried that yet, but I will download the latest version now. Thank you very much Smile

I feel silly for asking, but how exactly do I download the developer version? Do I just drag and drop all of the files to my existing Dolphin.exe?
Just download from http://dolphin-emu.org/download and then extract the folder. The dev versions will be able to read all of your settings, so just run the executable from the archive you extracted. And make sure to extract the files; you can't run Dolphin from the archive.

Windows won't let me open the application... Says that it's "saving my computer from risk" or something. grrr -__- the other version of Dolphin works just fine. I am very confused. Thanks a lot for your help by the way!
If you're using IE, just click that bar and allow the download.

If it's your antivirus doing it, your antivirus is being stupid.

If it's neither of those things doing it, you need to get an antivirus program.
