Got a break in the bad run of my internet, took screens of ALL of the relevant settings panels ("avancé" and "patchs" both have nothing enabled, as is default, so I occluded them).
When I remove the limiter, my framerate never goes above 61, by the way. Even when it should (ex.: opening movie).
EDIT: If it helps, I could try to compile dolphin on my Sempron 2800+ and see if I can reproduce it reliably there. But, the GPU is a VIA Pro, and I'm not sure those work with dolphin anymore, what with the fact that it's REALLY old. The motherboard has an AGP slot and an AMR slot, even.
I bet you're having vsync issues which is allowing the audio to desync when you hit tab. I'll try to reproduce that.
Edit: Nope. You're having problems I cannot reproduce artificially. Even with vsync + frame limiter off + max framerate at 60, I do not desync on the opening. I know something wrong's going on.
If I could trust RivaTuner to not cause BSoDs all of the goddamn time, I'd be able to record some video for you and go through the grueling, probably-two-day process of uploading it so that you can see if anything looks fishy. But, because I can't trust RivaTuner to not cause BSoDs all of the goddamn time, my only option is to use RadeonPro, which causes massive performance issues with Dolphin by just putting it's FPS marker on it. Unless there's a function for it in dolphin, in which case I guess I could use that.
Dump frames might still be an option under graphics/hacks.
FYI, I once noticed that under the asynchronous HLE, Wind Waker's title screen music always played at fullspeed under every audio backend *except* OpenAL, which IIRC has more correct audio timing according to skid_au. (So does NullAudio, but of course you can't hear anything with that...) I'm not sure if any of that still applies, but make sure you're testing different audio backends as well.
dtk music is still asynchronous for the time being.
MaJoR Wrote:Xtreme2damax Wrote:I tested LoZ: Twilight Princess. I let it go through both intros twice which didn't lose music, in prior builds after going through both intros once there would be no music the second time around. However as soon as I loaded a game I lost all audio completely, even sound effects. :/
Game: The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess (NTSC Wii)
Test: Two loops of Horse/FMV, then make a save and enter the game. Let the first scene with Link and the sword dude run until Link gets Epona and music plays.
Average FPS of the ultimate craptop: 3
Results: UGH. It took AN HOUR to get through the two Horse/FMV loops. Do you have any idea what the music sounds like at 3fps on tinny craptop speakers!?!?!?! Freaking YUCK. Never do that to me again! But eventually, I made it. Music kept working, sound effects kept working. No problems. Minus the 3fps. That sucked.
NOT REPRODUCED
Use a faster system or have someone else test.. Oh and it is reproducible, let the game cycle through both fmv's (Link on horse) and the second intro movie. You have to do that twice and let the Link on horse fmv play a third time until the title and text "Press start" appear. Then I loaded my save game with the most progress, as soon as the game loads I hear rain for a split second before everything even sfx goes silent.
I'll post my memory card file with the save game so someone else can test. Just do what I described and load the file with the most progress to reproduce the issue.
Try to reproduce it in single core, if you cannot do it, it is your own computer's fault.
I'm unable to reproduce in dualcore because my computer is faster, I'm guessing.
JMC47, u can help me, please?
what's happening with that??? WTF???
This is not the appropriate thread for performance based inquiries, we're testing a new feature, and what you're asking about is 100% unrelated.
The reason is in the game default settings being overridden by opening the graphics window. Now please, make your own threads for support issues rather than hijacking others.
