CPU fans (in this form) are just case fans with shorter wires, really. In fact, I'm currently using a CPU fan in the front of my case, and I'm pretty sure I slapped a spare case fan on the heatsink for this one old computer that I'm keeping around for some reason. It's definitely not to measure how Dolphin performs on a sempron 2800+ and an IGP from back when everyone used XP, no siree.

Well anyway I now have a heatsink from a AMD Phenom II X4 955 on there. The fan doesn't even screw onto it it just has 4 tiny clips. The fan isn't perfect but it's significantly quieter.
My only issue now is I can't find a program that'll actually show me the cpu's temp. The only one that's even close to working is CUPID which shows the idle temp at 40c when the bios shows ~30c.
