Would compute shaders help with the OpenGL performance?
The pull request mentions that some of the cost increase is due to accuracy, but it still seems there is some room for gains.
Guys, randomly throwing <insert buzzword here> or jumping on the <random overhyped media topic> train doesn't solve any problems. Solutions only work for the kind of problems they have been designed for.

Now, if you were to come up with reasonable suggestions for improvements (e.g. "Compute shaders are good because X, Y and Z. Since Dolphin performance is heavily affected by Y, would it be a good project to tackle if I changed the Dolphin code to use compute shaders?"), it would be a different story...
Nope.
FYI for NVidia users: I am currently testing a new driver above 335 that has provided a decent speed up for the latest Dolphin development versions in D3D mode.
Does it do anything for OGL, though? That's where the huge bottleneck is for nVidia right now...
There was an update to dolphin that helped the huge performance loss. I'm now able to play OGL again just fine even at 3x to 4x IR in most titles.

It looks like there is still an issue in new Dolphin dev builds with certain games crashing with OGL and newer NVidia drivers. I have found build 4.0-511 is what broke OGL in some games. Metroid Other M, for example.
We know. That's an Nvidia driver bug, and not Dolphin's fault. Just use the Nvidia 332.21 drivers.

What was the update that fixed that? Just curious.

In the games that work with the newer 335+ driver I am testing for nVidia OLG is working faster still in D3D for me in new dev builds.
