@ Unknownforce :
you are completly right, thats exactly what it does.
the auto-frameskip tries to archieve the real speed by sacrificing real frames.
but instead of setting frameskip by hand, it will only use that amount of skip that is really needed.
it's like setting every little step, for example 0,5 frameskip or 1,2
but even better : it works for each frame !
example : a game slows down because of an explosion that lasts half a second, but you will never notice that slowdown.
but there is one more thing to add : its not completly auto.
you can still set the maximum
if a game would need very high frameskip to run with full speed and you dont want that, you can set the maximum to frameskip 1 or 2.
Im really impressed in how well it works.
If someone would have told me one week ago that i can play z:tp without any problems today, i would have laughed.
but now its reality, thanks to Xtra.Krazzy and this intelligent auto mode

Pls, pls someone patch this in and upload it...

I tried this very briefly last night and it seemed to cause it to be a lot more jerky than I expected. But in some places where I would get 60 fps, it seemed like it was still doing frame skipping... But this could also be that the Metroid Primes are still pretty unstable as far as FPS goes, I didn't test it on Zelda(WW or TP), which seems to be the most stable FPS game I've seen thus far...
How exactly does it work as far as the settings go? It's auto all the time as long as the frame limiter is set, and then based on what frame skip you set, it will skip that many frames at most to achieve the normal game speed? There's no other setting for it, correct?

right, so it does what i thought it does
this patch needs to have an option like always
off , auto , and then the numbers of frameskip (1,2,3,4,..,9)
i'd do it but im tired as fuck from work
