I'm looking to add a dedicated video card to my mini itx system. I know NOTHING about gpu's..Right now, I have an Intel I-3 4340 with the HD4600 integrated graphics... Everything i play runs fine on 1x scaling...At 2x, some games start to stutter... I mostly play older systems, but I'd be happy to do Gamecube and Wii at 2x.

Problem is, my case is tight for a GPU... I have a

Diamond Radeon 7750 on its way... However, it might be a little too wide.. (My case is an In-Win BP 671)

I need a low profile, single slot GPU that doesn't extend past the width of the bracket, I think...

(It's impossible to get a Sapphire Radeon 7750 otherwise I'd be all over that)

Planning ahead, what should I be looking at if the 7750 I have on it's way doesn't fit... I'm pretty sure an Asus Radeon R7 240 would fit, but is that a step up from my HD 4600 integrated graphics?
Low profile 7750 are usually a good choice with Dolphin

Yes, a R7 240 would be a step-up. You can probably get around 2-2.5x IR with some levels of AA/AF
Thanks for the reply...

So, Asus R7 240 or

Gigabyte GeForce 640?

I think these are my only 2 options..
Asus R7 240
Tips : Look at the reviews , rating (how many eggs it get on newegg) , power consumption (lower = better , cooler ) , Texture Rate , Pixel Rate
However , it's just a small upgrade from Intel HD 4600
I don't know why you can't get 2xIR with Intel HD 4600 while the other people can (even at 2.5xIR). You should try some speed hack (like Vbeam speed hack by right-clicking the game -> Properties . This only work on some games though) , use direct3D instead of OpenGL , EFB copies to Texture instead of copies to Ram
Also check your CPU clock speed with Realtemp , make sure your CPU run at correct clock speed . i3 4340 is a very fast CPU for Dolphin , it's way faster than i5 3570k @ 4.4GHz in Dolphin Benchmark
Admittedly, I've only tried a hand full of games

Mario Kart Wii...stutters at 2x

Muramasa... stutters, but becomes playable at 2x

FZero GX... Usually crashes

Zelda Twilight Princess, looks OK in first village, effects lighting effects slow it down...

Wind waker... seems OK

I've read a ton of reviews, however they're all geared towards PC games, nothing emu related... and this is for a dedicated PC emu
Well , MKWii is a gpu demanding game , no wonder why

Don't go for a R7 240, they are more than bad. Intel HD are almost better. 7750 are not bat but the price is too high...
Go for a hd 6570, very good price, and low profile: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as...6814150657
They are half price of the hd 7750, and have same performence, (because of theyr architecture, 6xxx familly are better than 7xxx and news...)
Do you even know what are you talking about ? 6570 DDR3 = 7750 GDDR5 ? 28.8GB/sec memory bandwidth is on par with 72GB/sec memory bandwidth ?

This one will probably work too!

So, GeForce GT460

Radeon R7 240 ( extremely low power and heat is a big plus for my case)

or hope the Diamond 7750 fits?

Did you know what bandwidth realy are ? Or use for ? 7750 and r2 240, got a huge lack of efficacity, 6xxx are 4VLIW and 5VLIW Architecture, are the same as WII GPU architecture. And 7xxx and Rx are RISC SIMD Architecture, and need more power and time to acheves to traduce Wii Graphics.
