the ac freezer 7 pro is a pretty good cooler. The person who said the stock cooler is good has to go to the doctors for a checkup. It's loud, hot and not efficient. How is that good? btw, as5 isn't that great anymore. Hail shin etsu x23 7783d or arctic cooling mx2.

If you doing LGA 775, the little clips work but can be a pain as everyone knows. Besides that, mine dropped my cpu a good 5-6C compared to the stock. I say its worth the 19.99 or so dollar price tag. If you got a little bit more money then get a Corsair H50. That runs around 80 dollars but its pretty much a mini water cooler for your cpu and is really simple to install.
When I got this cooler I was a little surprised, as the box that it comes in is very small and I am used to larger boxes. The box itself is pretty much standard for a retail item. We really like and appreciate it.

DON'T USE ARCTIC SILVER! Any noob that has been building systems for a few years and tried different thermal compounds should know that virtually all non-ceramic based thermal compounds yield the same results, and since arctic silver conducts electricity you have to be really careful with it. I once killed a gpu and a mobo both at the same time during an upgrade one christmas thanks to arctic silver, and since then I have never used it again. Use arctic cooling TX2 instead, it's cheaper, yields slightly better temps in most tests, and doesn't conduct electricity so you can spill it all you want without short circuiting. As for the cooler I have no input since I have not tried it myself, just wanted to bring that to your attention.
I myself used to have a zalman 9500 for like 2 years on my q6600 ( @3ghz instead of 2.4 at stock) .
One month ago I discovered NOCTUA , I bought one of them and now my q6600 is safe @ 3.6 Ghz .It is like night and day .So I will heavily advise you to get one of those noctua cooler. They are the best on the market atm .
