Hello guys!

After a long time I'm using the Dolphin Emulator again and for my surprise the Resident Evil Archives: Resident Evil and Resident Evil Archives: Resident Evil Zero are capped at 30 fps.

What's the problem? They run at 60 fps right?

I'm using the Dolphin 4.0

My rig is:

Intel C2Q Q9550 2.83 GHz
Kingston DDR2 8 GB 800 MHz
AMD HD 5830 1 GB
Asus P5Q-E motherboard
Windows 7 x64

Thanks! Smile

Nope. These games run 30 FPS on real HW, and so they run 30 FPS on Dolphin. See this thread here for details on games that run at 30 FPS: https://forums.dolphin-emu.org/Thread-li...-at-60-fps

Thanks for your fast reply. Smile

My doubt is that, in these games wikis, people posted in the testing entries they're able to run them at 60fps... how this is possible? =S

Not everyone (especially on the internet) knows what they're talking about. Some people don't bother to look at the FPS at all, so "fullspeed" will equal 60 FPS to them, or some people mistake the VPS (number of times the GC/Wii GPU requests frame draws per second iirc) for the FPS. 30 FPS games will still have a VPS of 60.

The RE games have been known to run at 30 FPS for quite a while, and a lot of members (LordVador for example) will attest to that. When in doubt, just run the game in windowed mode and look at the game speed (represented in %). If it's at 100% and the FPS is 30, the game is meant to run at 30 FPS. Some NTSC games have 30/60 FPS modes where certain areas or menus run at 60 FPS but the rest of the game runs at 30 FPS (or vice versa). The RE games don't fall into this category afaik (they're straight up 30 FPS all the time for NTSC versions) but games like Tales of Symphonia (GC) and Wind Waker switch between 30 FPS and 60 FPS.
