Testing with Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New Age, I notice a huge difference between master and this. The latency is low enough that I don't notice the lapse between a menu cursor change and the sound. On master, the lapse was enough to make me cringe and stop playing. My specific audio settings are HLE with pulse on Linux (Fedora 20 x86_64).

Oh don't worry, even without audio latency ToS

otNW will make you cringe and stop playing.
I am getting horrible stutter with this new branch "fix". In addition, the audio dumps are also stutter, whereas before, the audio dumps are perfect, despite some stutter in game play.
hm, maybe I've broken audio dumping a bit, let me check ...
What exactly are audio dumps? There's an option in the DSP for audio dump. That's unchecked.
This will record the audio output of the wii/gc. In theory, it should be possible to get perfect audio recordings without stutter, also with slowdowns in emulation.
How would I go about doing that? Do I need to run the game on the wii itself? I'm trying to play Skyward Sword and in the room right when you go into the boss battle of the first temple there's this weird stutter sound. I've heard it in a few games and its hard to describe. If I change the audio backend would it potentially go away?
This stutters on slowdowns can't be fixed, but you can dump (record) the audio and replay it later without stutters

On the version that you uploaded on the front page (854-dirty) every time I go to graphics while in game, dolphin crashes.
