You must be looking at something different from what I saw then. Everyone has bizarre proportions except for Tails (who for once looks like he matured a little). The legs on everyone else are too long. Knuckles' torso alone is alarming, and he really should see a good vet and a therapist about his steroid usage. And the senseless bandages everywhere look like they were too poor to buy new gloves and shoes, sort of like they're homeless or something.

This has "WTF" written all over it, just like when Shadow took a gun to fight off aliens, and Sonic started fighting with swords, after all the hot hedgehog-human romance with kissing princesses. And then there's that whole were-hog thing (although Unleashed was enjoyable, surprisingly). The sort of crap that has happened to Sonic over the past decade just doesn't happen to other notable video game characters...
Some people like the characters, some don't. I didn't grow up with Sonic, hence I don't understand all of this "Oh my god they all look so different". It's not like they'll stay like this, since it's just a spin-off but whatever.
It's not the fact that Sonic looks different that disturbs me. I was psyched about his new look in the early 2000s (Sonic Adventure 1&2, Sonic Advance 1-3). It's the fact that the new Sonic and Co look so damn awful artistically that makes me sick. Perhaps this is the product of my having an artist as a sister, but I call bad designs when I see them. I've seen fan-characters look better (and most are terrible).

It would make me feel better if this were just an ordinary spin-off (and spin-offs account for practically half of the Sonic franchise) but they're also making it into a TV show. That means someone thought this would be a Good Idea, or that it at least deserved more attention than a single game. Neither or those premises is true however.

I'm an artist, and I approve this message.
