@ Gundark: I wanted to test your issue again, but then noticed that recent nvidia drivers crash Dolphin's OpenGL backend.
So that is why Dolphin keeps crashing when using OpenGL. Oddly only one game I tried seems to be affected, Resident Evil 4 GC & Wii crashes on boot with OpenGL.
Yes, another workaround for the issue is to disable format change emulation. It's not mentioned in the article because that feature is disabled by default anyway, and it might be set in the game ini, hence actually disabling it might be nontrivial for the Average Joe to do.
I noticed more gpu usage, good for me!.
Salu2 - Darkness Knight
Why would that be beneficial in any way?
I'd guess because it forces the nvidia driver to put the GPU into high-performance mode.
There are better ways to do that. Like actually fixing the problem, which is what most people do (just turn off the throttling feature in the driver control panel).

I'd like to look into it again at some other point when that issue is fixed, meanwhile can you verify that the issue indeed still happens with the 4.0-1192 builds from http://dolphin-emu.org/download ? There have been a few behavior changes since then, not specifically addressing your issue but maybe they did fix it anyway.
I'm unable to test it because NVidia 335 drivers made a mess with my rig. Now I have crashes even on pc games and reverting it to 332 didn't solved it completely. However, this issue is barely noticeable and my gpu is dx10 only. IS dx11 mandatory for tev_fixes? I'll give it a try after I buy new gpu.
hi im having a issue with harry potter and the chamber of secrets my games running full speed but the audio is constantly crackling ive tried LLE recompiler and HLE recompiler but no difference any chance if this issue can be fixed in one of the next dev builds?
How the hell did you find THIS thread for your issue? O_o
@mrchrismania - Please don't necropost. Read the forum rules about out necroposting policy. Start a new thread about your problem in the General Discussion or Support forum. Also, the changes in tev_fixes_new are completely unrelated to your issues with audio crackling, so something else is happening on your end.
