Probably due to the NVIDIA driver crash, try using the 332 NVIDIA drivers.
I asked this in another thread, going from stable 4.0.2 release to a nightly without the Vertrex Streaming Hack my performance dropped quite a bit. I was originally playing Metroid Prime at 2.5x IR but had to drop down to 2x to get my performance on par in the newest build.
Is this down to greater accuracy in Dolphin or my drivers not having the extensions that's meant to replace the hack? I am on 335.23.
Vertex Streaming Hack doesn't really affect IR; it's likely another merge that made things more accurate (and i know the Metroid Prime games were affected) at the cost of GPU speed that is giving your video card headaches.
