Whereas I brought an 8-bit Intel chip into school and offered it to an AMD fanboy as an upgrade. It was a shame all the pins got squashed, because that could have been the core of a fun project at some point.
I happen to have a laptop Core 2 Duo from a broken laptop (nvidia defect) and AMD server processor (no use). Will sell online for $1000 each. Buyers must be -1 years old or younger.
I tend to stay away from computer hardware discussions, have yet to directly encounter the highly biased AMD fanboys head-on.

With the added support of ARB_buffer_storage in the new intel drivers i decided to pull out my 9800gtx and did some test runs of several games using the onboard intel 4000. opengl performance is a lot better than the previous drivers without support for the opengl extension. It was like a 5-8 fps improvement. However its still a terrible gpu to use for dolphin struggling on something as simple as 2xIR. It was a huge bottleneck that i had to run 1xIR for smooth gameplay and even then its still behind in performance of the old 9800gtx @ 2xIR without ARB_buffer_support.
Sure its great that new gfx api extension can give noticeable performance boost in dolphin but the best performance boost will forever be better hardware. There are buzz talk of d3d12 and mantle and that there are possibly more optimization like this to come however it just seem ridiculous to think that it can bridge the massive difference in performance between intel and amd cpus in dolphin.
I don't think it would bridge any gap; it would make both sides better.
