This is MY opinion. And criticism over the system in general, excluding its gaming lineup.

I actually got a Wii-U for Christmas, and I gotta say, I'm unimpressed with it so far. Not only the system itself, but it has a ton of other issues. I particularly dislike Miiverse, and their online is clunky. Also the OS seems to hang up occasionally for reasons I can't really fathom. I also do not like the pad, and ended up buying a classic controller. The only game I currently got is MH3U, and I guess its a decent game, but I'm not really into it.

It seems like Nintendo completely missed the mark with the Wii-U. I don't see anything creative or innovate about this system at all. Most people still think its a portable upgrade for the Wii. You know because they see a box that has a pad with a screen on it?

They're trying to market a system that is using hardware from 2006, and slap a $300-$350 price tag on it, when someone can go out and buy a PS4 that is actually using REAL next gen hardware for only 30% more. What can the Wii-U do that the PS4 doesn't do better, which wasn't something the Wii can't also do? Basically nothing IMO. And the consumers who do know the Wii-U is actually a new system realize this.

People said the same thing about the Wii, but the Wii was actually innovative because of the Wiimote, and it could do stuff its competitor couldn't do. And that was a feature that was desired by the masses. Even my mom, a 61 year old woman owns a Wii system, because she likes the Wii tennis and Wii fit. Nintendo can't even make a convincing selling point to the casual and non gamers they marketed the Wii to as to why they should buy a Wii-U? It doesn't provide any new features that they actually care about.

I'm predicting the Wii-U flops massively. Its going to be Nintendo's worst selling system second only to the Virtual boy.

And this isn't coming from a Nintendo hater either, because I own EVERY Nintendo console system from NES all the way up to Wii-U.

I think people overreact to bad initial sales, i don't think it is a bad console and i would definitely buy it if my financial situation wasn't bad atm. I saw a video of the new mario kart and it looks great, and i am sure that many other good games will follow up (like xenoblade's successor).

I really don't care about the power of the system or how clunky the UI is when I'm receiving amazing games. I have 11 Wii U games and my favorites are: The Wonderful 101, New Super Mario Bros. U, Pikmin 3, Nintendo Land, Super Mario 3D World, Wind Waker HD, and Sonic Lost World. There's also some awesome games coming out soon like X, Mario Kart 8, Bayonetta 2, Hyrule Warriors, Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem, Zelda Wii U, Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, Yoshi Yarn, and Smash Bros. for Wii U.

What really needs to happen is Nintendo needs to start advertising these games. A lot of people still don't even know what a Wii U is or all the games that are available for it.
My $.02 (I don't own a Wii U yet) - I think the price tag is too high for the capabilities/features and the controller seems like a gimmick. The new titles look great. I also remember when the Wii was fairly expensive initially and as the price dropped, it overtook other consoles in sales. I hope we'll see the same thing happen here in time. In my opinion Nintendo should have eliminated the touchscreen controller and reduced the initial price tag to compete the with other consoles. It worked in the past and I think it will work in the future.

I'm really not sure if offering their A+ titles on mobile and other platforms is a solid direction/strategy. Those titles are great not only because of their creative direction, but because of the technical capabilities of their controllers and platforms. I'm not sure there will be such a clean, error free experience if they offer games on 2-3 additional platforms. That erodes their primary differentiator.
We need awesome commercials like "Wii would like to play....WITH U". *epic music starts playing*

Those two chinese guys made me buy the Wii.
For me, the issue is games. Like the 3DS when it came out, there just aren't a ton of games that interest me. It's been out for over a year, but the main games they pushed out have been games that I feel like I've basically played before. New Super Mario Bros. U (or New Super Luigi U)? I've played the original NSMB on the DS, NSMB Wii, and the one for the 3DS. Kinda burnt out now. Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate? That's on my 3DS. Not a fan of DK games, so the upcoming DKC game isn't on my radar.

What I do want are Super Mario 3D World (for multiplayer with my sis), Mario Kart 8 (again, for multiplayer), Smash Bros U. (yeah, I'd buy that and the 3DS version), and of course the next X game from Monolith. But aside from those, the Wii U basically suffers the same meme that infected the PS3 for much of its early life: it has no games. More accurately, it has no games I want to play. Contrast this with my 3DS library (12 and counting, Bravely Default shall soon be 13). The 3DS is coming up on 3 years now (and I've have mine for like 2 and a half), and I've already bought more games for it in that time span than most of the other consoles I've owned.

Nintendo and 3rd Party devs are pushing all the right buttons for me on the 3DS, but for me and the games I like, the Wii U has nothing. It's quite figuratively like comparing a dry well to an open fire hydrant. But that's just me.

Just out of curiosity... What games interest you on PS4 & Xbox One? My brother got a PS4 last Christmas and I'm interested in getting Infamous: Second Son and maybe Killzone. For Xbox One the only games I'm interested in are Titanfall and Halo. However Titanfall isn't exclusive (It's available for PC) and they haven't shown any gameplay for the next Halo soooo... that's out of the question for now. Tongue
I like some FPS games, but not a whole lot. I haven't played a Killzone game since... Killzone on the PS2 (yeah the first one, and I actually liked it despite its flaws). I'm a big Halo fan though. I will be getting Halo 5 no matter what. Hey, I basically bought a 360 just to play Halo (and Tales of Vesperia). Titanfall looks cool, but I'm a heavy RPG/Strategy gamer (not "Western RPGs", I really have no interest in most of the games that fall under that group). I go with consoles/handhelds that give me the most RP/Strategy games. Action/adventure/platformer games aren't my thing unless they're part of franchises that I really like (Metal Gear, Mario, Metroid, Zelda, Kirby), so I'm not into games like Assassin's Creed, Dead Rising, or Infamous.

I'm kinda finding it hard to get excited either the PS3 or XBone. There's Kingdom Hearts III, but not much else that catches my eye, unless someone wants to reveal a neat RPG coming this way for either soon. Ditto for the Vita. Basically, the 3DS is the only thing scratching my itch.
If anyone is thinking about buying a Wii-U, you might wanna check Sam's Club retailers, lol

The receipt is from October 2013, but still.......

I suppose its possible someone photo-shopped those entirely for trolling purposes, but that would be a lot of effort, because that receipt doesn't look easy to photo shop. And if it was, they did a very good job on it. Also the serial # on the receipt FW103650195 - I checked this serial # on Club Nintendo => https://club.nintendo.com/ and it appears to be a legit Wii-U serial number. So IMO the evidence is pointing toward the receipt being legit.
