I really don't see how admins post could have been taken as offensive. It contained no personal insults. Calling someone an idiot and a dick however is pretty much the definition of insulting someone. Especially when they did nothing to deserve it. Please refrain from doing that in the future.
As others have said either switch to Intel or don't bother upgrading. We would hate to see you spend lots of money on an upgrade that would produce minimal performance improvement when slightly more money would produce a dramatic improvement in performance and give you the type of smooth gameplay experience that you're looking for.
That's because out of all the FX cpus that particular model is by far the most popular for some reason. You will see threads bashing the other FX cpus too but because FX 6300 users outnumber the others several times over you're far more likely to run into those. Again this is not because that particular model is slow. They're all slow.
You're not. Just change the motherboatrd and cpu.
It would. But you can easily overclock the 6300 to the same speeds. In fact because it has fewer cores it's actually a better overclocker than the 8350.
I speak now as the author of that thread. I believe you have misinterpreted what that thread is about. It's a hierarchy in the truest sense of the word. It's meant to list cpus from fastest to slowest based on how they perform relative to others. What framerate you get will also depend on the game, dolphin build, OS, and settings that you use. I can't state how well a particular group of cpus will run games through dolphin because of all those variables I just listed. It's impossible to garuantee how well dolphin would perform in every circumstance with any unique set of hardware. Just because a cpu is listed in the fast category doesn't mean all of your games are going to run well. Some may run fast while other more demanding games may run slow. It just means that it's faster than most other cpus made over the last 5-10 years. Dolphin is a very demanding application and to run some of the heavier games at fullspeed you will need a category 1 cpu.
