I'm using a gamecube controller and have mapped everything successfully except for the L and R analogs, which are needed to "lightly push" the L and R buttons. When trying to map them, they are incredibly oversensitive. Just barely tapping the L/R buttons maxes them out to 99 threshold. There's no "sliding" at all; the moment I even accidentally nudge the button it maxes out. How do I fix this?
Show a screenshot of your gcpad config..

This is me barely touching the R-button.
Is this a may flash device? If so try the latest drivers on their main page as this was a known bug for there adapter.

Totalconsole
Then check the response in windows itself. Windows has a game controller test app in the control panel. See if the range is good in there. If it is, I'm not sure what to thing. If its not, calibrate it.
Also, unrelated, your C-Stick left aught to be ZR- not ZR+-.

It actually is a mayflash despite ordering from totalconsole. i downloaded their driver from may 2013 (most recent on their downloads page) and installed it, but it didn't do anything. how do i change drivers for dolphin?
There was also a firmware fix for mayflash for the L/R buttons. This you need to contact them for. I dont think you have the issue but I would start with them. If you answer my control panel advice I'll know if its a problem with dolphin or the driver.

this make no sense --> how do i change drivers for dolphin?

Drive are for the OS not dolphin. Dolphin uses direct X or SDL.

i guess it's not a problem with dolphin...

the "set up USB controller" interface was actually different prior to installing the newer Mayflash driver, and didn't have calibration for the L and R analogs I believe.

however, i can't find any way to calibrate the L and R analogs here despite it showing them.
