Looking to buy this rig -

Case: Corsair 300R (comes with two case fans)
Motherboard: Gigabyte Z68AP-D3
Processor:
i5-2500K at 3.7GHz (can be overclocked up to 4.5GHz with this cooler
whilst staying within safe temps set by Intel 72.6C)
Processor Cooling: Thermaltake Frio (brand new!)
Graphics Card: Zotac GTX 580 1.5GB
RAM: 8GB Kingston Hyper-X 1866MHz (2x4GB)
Power Supply: Fractal Design Integra R2 750W (brand new!)
Disk Drive: Samsung 24x DVD Writer (brand new!)
Hard Drive: Seagate 3TB 7200RPM 64MB Cache (brand new!)
Operating System: Windows 7 64bit

This is my first ever real gaming PC and it's mainly to play the Galaxy games, both of which I have but look awful on my HDTV, and Zelda TP. I heard SMG 2 is one of the harder Dolphin games to run, so I'm looking to at least get a PC that will run this without a hitch. Any advice is greatly appreciated!
It'll obviously run it yes, but it'll also be very playable since you should get 60FPS most of the time provided that you do overclock it to 4.5GHz which should be a piece of cake with the 2500K.
How much does it cost?

That's not the TJ Max temperature. That's the T-case temperature. TJ Max is 100C, but I'd suggest hitting 80-85C max with Prime95 running for a while.

That's good news, should have mentioned I was after 60fps 1080p too :-) Will cost about £350, second hand. Maybe more though. Is that a decent price?
That sounds like a heck of a deal. You're purchasing it from eBay or something right?
Be sure to check for damage, etc if you're going to physically inspect it and test it out when you get it to see if it's stable.

God damn it, outbid, went for £440 in the end.

This one's £470. Better processor by benchmark (though not sure about overclocking), though it's an AMD... will there be compatibility issues with dolphin do you think?

FX-6350 is a mid-range CPU while i5 2500k is a high-end CPU ...Even if you managed to OC FX 6350 madly , it wouldn't reach i5 2500k stock speed performance in Dolphin
See Dolphin Benchmark
The second option is even worse . Why would someone be stupid enough to pair a low-end (locked multiplier) mobo with an unlocked multiplier CPU like i5 3570k
Btw , GTX 580 is a high end GPU , HD 7750 GDDR5 is mid range GPU, 7750 DDR3 is low end GPU
Found this on NewEgg:

I ran the benchmarks on cpubenchmark.net and the 6350 has a higher score than the 2500k, similar to the 3570. I heard the site's pretty reliable.. Sounds like I have much to learn with regards to system setups though... unlocked what? lol

Other CPU benchmarks mean nothing. When it comes to Dolphin performance, the only benchmarks that count are the ones that use Dolphin. See the Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker CPU Benchmark. Dolphin relies greatly on single-threaded performance. Currently, Intel's latest 3 hardware generations products excel at this type of work load, but the same cannot be said for AMD's offerings. You can see the results for yourself; an AMD FX 8350 @ 4.52GHz loses to my i5-2500K (no overclocking, stock clocks @3.3GHz) in all but the last save (and even then, it only performs better by 2 FPS). A 100MHz overclock would is enough to surpass the FX 8350 @ 4.52GHz. That's the performance difference we're talking about here.

Intel "locks" their multipliers, which ordinarily prevents overclocking (in Haswell, iirc, it definitely prevents any substantial form of overclocking). Models that end in "K" or "XM" typically have unlocked multipliers, so you can overclock them quite high. Some games (Super Mario Galaxy 1 & 2 with LLE audio for proper sound, The Last Story, Metroid Prime 1-3) need overclocking to reach fullspeed consistently in Dolphin. Since you want to play SMG2, you'll have to deal with LLE audio for proper sound emulation (HLE audio drops music every now and then) which makes this game very CPU intensive. If you're going to get a computer for this game in Dolphin, it's highly recommended that you get a Sandy Bridge, Ivy Bridge, or Haswell CPU capable of overclocking. An i5-2500K or i5-3570K will do the job, but know that with Dolphin, Haswell performs somewhere between 20~30% better than Sandy Bridge and Ivy Bridge, with almost no increase in price differences (at least by MSRP), thus an i5-4670K is the ideal CPU for Dolphin.

Also, if you're in the UK, I here Scan.co.uk is pretty good. Look for some deals there.

A little off topic but I know someone here in the US that ships products to/from the UK on a personal basis. You could call it a personal import/export service. If you're interested, let me know.
