Looks like you have Dolphin in your My Docs folder which should be OK, but just in case, assign yourself as the Owner and give yourself full rights to the folder/files.

Also temporarily (as a test) disable your antivirus/anti-malware software to see if the issue persists. Often Antivirus software manipulates the way applications work behind the scenes and it can cause issues (such as McAfee's replacing the cscript.exe with its own which causes all kinds of hell if McAfee is uninstalled). If that turns out not to be it, run a full scan for viruses, malware and rootkits to ensure you do not have anything borking up the system.

You say you cant run as Admin because the GPad doesnt work. Give us more info on this. I have never heard of that.

Also what about your WiiMote if you run as Admin? If that works. Test as Admin with the WiiMote.

Also ensure you have the latest GPU and system drivers. Bad drivers might be something to look into. Also look at the GPU temps as you play by using GPU-Z. I know you said your CPU temps are OK but a poorly seated GPU heatsink can cause hard lockups.

I am sure this isnt it, but how often do you reboot your PC? If it has been awhile, things like this can creep in.

I see you have dropbox as well. Perhaps Dropbox is trying to backup Dolphin files as they are being used and the OS doesnt like it. I know its a long shot but disable DropBox temporarily and see if that helps.

Please dont discount any of these just because other applications work. This issue is a strange one so please try all of the above and report the results back Smile

x64 bit dolphin.
I'll try that.
I'll try that. Using malwarebytes pro.
I'm using XPadder to use my 360 controller to play games with GCPad, when I ran as admin, it wouldn't pick up the gcpad input at all in the controls mapping.
Not using a wiimote.
Have all the latest drivers. I'll look at GPU-Z.
Once or twice daily.
I'll try disabling dropbox, but it isn't backing up the files which emulator is in.
Please post the results once you have had a chance to test. When you say you arent using a WiiMote, do you mean it isnt possible or you just prefer not to with your Wii games?

Also I wonder if anyone here has any experience with XPadder and running as Admin...
I just ran a full test on XPadder and Admin mode.
There is definitely something funky going on with it. In non-Admin mode, XPadder will run fine. If you try and use Dolphin in Admin mode, Xpadder will not work. However, if you open the GCPad screen, and then put the XPadder windows as the top (active) window, then it will recognize the input. But close the GCPad window, and then XPadder will not work again.
However, there is an easy fix. Just run XPadder as Admin also. Works perfectly fine on GC and Wii games. Probably has something to do with the signing rights of applications not wanting to talk to non-admin programs to prevent malicious software from being run.

Can't you avoid all this trouble by just mapping the controller under the GCPad window? My Logitech controller is recognized by the Microsoft controller software on my computer, and I just map it in Dolphin....
Thanks for the testing and insight KHg8m3r!

Crimson,

Give that a try and see if running both as Admin resolves your issue.
Running both as admin didn't work. Used input from controller without xpadder and it still crashed.
Gave ownership, disabled antivirus, disabled dropbox.
Noticed the dolphin folder was read only, so I changed it and going to try again now.
Looks like read-only fixed it. Haven't crashed and 40 mins in.
Never seen Dolphin make itself read-only. what a weird thing to track down.

Glad to see you have it fixed. Smile
