Hey guys. I just got a brand new PC with Windows 8.1, Intel i7-4820 processor, dual Nvidia GTX-770's in SLI, 16 gigs of ram. Using Dolphin 4.0
Most games run perfectly graphics-wise, however pretty much every game I've played (both Wii and Gamecube titles) have audio crackling/popping issues. It's most noticeable on menu screens..but it's also happening in-game..though probably less noticeable due to game sound effects.
I've tried both HLE and LLE on most of the games and the issues still persist. I've disabled Idle Skipping and enabled Vbeam hack.
Any ideas? Getting very frustrated!
Thanks!
Can you post a small snippet of audio for us to hear exactly what you are up against?
You say that every game you play is affected. Can you give us a few examples?
If it happens with LLE then I dont think its an issue with full speed. Tell me a little more about your TV/audio setup. Also do you have any non standard Dolphin settings?
The clips were recorded directly through Windows using the Stereo Mix recording option in my sound settings...so my monitor/speakers aren't a factor.
My computer in an Alienware Aurora, two days old, and I'm using the integrated sound from the motherboard.
I'm not sure what you mean by "non-standard" settings...but I haven't really messed with much outside recommended settings for specific games.
I also noticed that in Kirby's Epic Yarn, if the framerate dips slightly below 60fps, I get a few crackles. This happens regardless of what DSP I select. With my system specs, should then game even be dipping below 60fps at all?
I'm using 64 bit Windows if that matters.
If you're dead set against audio crackles when not maintaining full speed use the OpenAL backend and set latency to 4 - 5.
If it's still crackling then I'm not sure what to say.

This actually made the crackling even worse.
Could something be wrong with my hardware?
Try disabling sli, it is not supported by dolphin and there were reports of issues with it enabled. Also try to lower your overclock, if it is not stable enough you might get speed issues.

Disabling SLI did nothing. The processor uses Turbo Boost which I have no idea how to disable..
Figured out how disable Turbo Boost. No change.
Gosh..some games have so much crackling that I can't stand them for more than five minutes.
There has to be a solution this!
