No, it's just 4.0 and few bugfixes. No new features on 4.0.1
So even Dolphin-x64_4.0-156 is newer (and better) than 4.0.1 (I've been using that version for no particular reason)?
So no problem if on top of 4.01 we copy the latest 4.0-xxx release, right?
Don't do that, there's no reason for that and it's more likely that you'll break something by doing that.

At the risk of getting very off topic, what happened? I think his work was extremely valuable. I'd really like to learn a lot about the audio backend so I can help contribute, but that will be much harder if he's gone.

Typo. People were pissed that the new HLE was slower and produces issues when the game isn't running at fullspeed (because it's synchronous). REALLY pissed.
