This was fixed in master by
https://github.com/dolphin-emu/dolphin/pull/7076. I wouldn't be surprised if some of the other issues have been fixed in master as well.

Edit: That article you attached is super helpful too, I have also watched some videos on YouTube and definitely gotta make this working, it can look absolutely stunning!
So the depth texture is what other calling "height maps". These are shade and the essential for that added extra 3d details to the object. Normal adds some extra depht with angle information. Definitely need both! 
you need color texture and bump and normal map to getthe best results.

Is not that easy for dolphin, in yusu you start with an optimized shader as input so translating to assembly is not that hard because you know that your source is already defined to minimize resources usage. On the contrary our sources are the pipeline configurations and sometimes is really hard to get optimized code out of it and we trust in the glsl/hlsl compiler to optimize our shaders and produce fast shaders. It would take a lot of really hard work to generate a working compiler, and knowing that it will only work in a specific brand is even more discouraging.
pal50 in wii option menu doesn't work..
tested in mario kart and metroid trilogy...
game run at 60fps...
