I don't have those issues you descrive on my system so it should be something in the configuration.
Can you test in portable mode with the default configuration?
I just checked 957 again with dx11 renderer and after some time it started to work. Then the same result with opengl so I guess I should have been waiting in the first place. Sorry for the inconvenience but it really did not work with opengl after updaiting dolphin.
And I didn't mean any rudeness. I deeply respect all the hard work that allows me to play games with minimum stattering and better overall performance. Next time I will check twice before writing anything here. Sorry once again.

With v957:
DX11 = Black screen
OpenGL = crash
Tried several games which worked fine with v950 and Dolphin 5.0-4607
UPDATE: I disabled DolphinFX shaders and games run normally. Then i enabled the shaders again and the games continue to work fine...
Using latest AMD drivers.

Oh cool, I'll try it out and if I have some time I'll try to gather some numbers and observations for you for comparisons between DX11 and OpenGL on Win 10 then, and test it out on Linux as well for the OpenGL backend as well if I have the time. From what I have seen from personal experiance and heard from others it seems Xenoblade Chronicles can stutter quite a bit from shader compilation (hence why I have been using your version of Dolphin to play it for a while).

so your report is when you start the game with dolphinFX enabled it crahs in ogl and black screen in dx11, but if you start the game and then enable DolphinFX it works?
As a matter of fact I did it too. I meen removing FXAA just in case before trying to launch a game. Is that really it?
And the symptoms I've had were same like these GeoMan guy had.

Dolphin rebuilded absolutely all caches after this update, you certainly crashed at this step.
Can't choose rom directory. Using 957.

can you give more detail?
That's simply it. In the other versions, you can click twice in the message that appears in the blank space (under Open, Options, etc) to choose a rom directory so your games appear on that blank space as a list. In 957, that option simply does not exist. I had to download 753.

Well, I didn't even realize you could do that until now.
You mean you can't double click on the message that says "double-click here to set a games directory" ?? You can still go to Options->Configuration->Paths->Add, and pick your folder of choice, for the exact same effect.
