This doesn't happen in the main branch of Vulkan either. here's a screenshot. http://abload.de/img/20161127095129_18js7i.jpg
To update on this, it seems to have something to do with the HD texture pack as the problem doesn't happen when not loading it, however the text displays correctly in the other backends and on the main branch when loading it.
Hey Tino, it appears Version 849 Of Ishiiruka Breaks Texture Packs! i tested with my own mod and a few others. is this just me or is it everyone? here is an example of what i mean.

as you can see it only loads some textures, but when i jump back a few versions it seems to work fine.
@AlexS2412: can you give me a little more detail?

it seems like certain textures just dont work anymore on any build after 705 of ishiiruka. literally half of all texture packs just stopped working entirely for me since 706 and up
@AlexS2412: just to reduce the scenario for you with all backends using any version starting from 706 causes custom textures to stop working?
that is really weird because i tested them and stiill work perfectly in my system. Any information you can give me will help.

i sent you a few dms with my discord
@AlexS2412: found what the issue could be. in the latest version removed support for the old texture format, to improve performance and clean code a little. you should use and older version to transform the old textures to the new naming convention an it will work perfectly in the new versions.
Alex: You should simply download the latest version of the WW texture pack. It was finished recently and it is now in DDS format with the new naming convention. Most of the best texture packs available have since been converted to the new format and are offered in DDS, which improves performance quite a bit.
updated latest folder with a new version, small fixes and merges from master. Added Full resolution frame dumps as on master but implement it on dx11 and dx12 also.
I solved my issue by switching out the DDS text files with the PNG versions but left the rest of the textures DDS, it's weird because all the other DDS textures are working perfectly, weirder still is the issue seems exclusive to Mario Galaxy, I tried Galaxy 2 which I'm also using DDS with in Vulkan and the text loaded fine.
