ok , bad news i don't test for 5.1 channel suport in your hard so if it crashing then your hard don't support 6 channel output. i tested on both of my machines and they run perfectly.
can you please test if openal causes the same result?

It works surely because the bug was LLE related and not sound card vendor related. You and me we had been testing with LLE.
