Norms being normal maps? Anything specific that's confusing to you?

The blue color channel of an RGBA image(4 channels) represents the bump map, base color of a flat surface is 127([color=#FF1400]R[/color][color=#00FF00]G[/color][color=#0000FF]B[/color] color: 0, 0, [color=#00007F]127[/color]). Pixels above [color=#00007F]127 [/color]raises the surface of the bump map.
The normal map is stored in the green and alpha channels, it can be generated from a bump map, Ishiiruka does it automatically if the channels are empty(no normal map found).

If you think about the bump map only, not bothering about the normal map for now, are you unsure how the bump map itself is created?
@Grimreaper : can you give more detail on what the problem is, for example what version are you comparing,
why are you using dx9? dx9 does not support normal maps, just dx11 and ogl.
what are you trying to achieve so i can point you in the right direction.

Sorry for the late reply this thing does not refresh properly if it sits in another tab. I am mainly texturing hacking is my answer. My apologies for saying norms I just used the short hand normal mapping and yes I do know how to normal map albeit I am used to this style [Image: norm.jpg] (note this is not a map of mine it's just the map I have is too big for attachment). You guys say 11 so if I choose 11 how do I make sure it loads properly.

And with the other textures not loading properly as in his ear stays the same as normal and so on it does it on every setting I spent an hour going through them all and it changed nothing well minus his eyes turning white once).


(Basically you can say I am a hobby texture hacker I may would give these out who knows but I do not really finish it 100 percent I just do the parts I like to do example below )

Thank you, I decided no to the whole super hyper ultrasonic realistic approach it has been done to death my style is enhance what is there and this one is a hybrid between oot and twilight princess and for some reason got into wanting to make his tunics. I stuck my foot in my mouth is why I originally started this.
I saw the twilight princess "HD" trailer and said it looks like a texture hack and anyone can do that and well someone said prove it and I made my wolf link looks better than theirs. Albeit they have plenty of time to take it to the extreme. After sticking my foot in my mouth I started having fun.

And there is my issue I have no slide bars at all for turning the bump up or down etc. I have no clue what went wrong where but something did.
Just downloaded and install everything I saw at the beginning of this thread and no dolphin with sliders for norm map and so on..... I am error.

Okay.

1.make sure your ishiiruka version is 499.
2.Make sure you are using directx 11.
. Thats the only thing I can think of.

Okay that folder has no extension file I must have missed how to install I guess I be blind (is there is a video for this, sorry I like videos).
I dont have a video. All you should need to do is download and extract the latest version, change the backend to directx 11, turn on load textures and load materials, enable tesselation (if your using displacement maps, and you should be ready to go.
