The game i play use 25 FPS. When i set frame skip to 1, i got 13FPS.
It is possible to have 20FPS (0.5 frame skip) ?
Why the frame skip is slowing down a lot with small value ?

Rgds,

Why are you even using frameskip to begin with?

Hi,

I'm using frame skip because if i don't, the game isn't running at full speed. (20fps)
Sound is chopping 80% of the time without frame skipping.
Does anyone know how to set up the half frame skip in the ini file ?

Rgds,
You can't as far as I know, and I don't know how you could program an emulator to properly skip only half a frame (aside from rendering half of the next frame and blending that with the previous one, but I don't see the point in that).
Hi,

I don't understand the frame skip mode.
Normally if you skip one frame of 25 you should have 24, not 13-14FPS ?
It is posssible to have a frame skip when needed ?
Ex: 25Fps fullspeed, and when needed the emulator skip frames then return to fullspeed ?

Thanks in advance,
Rgds,
No no. Frame skip is "How many frames does it skip before rendering the next frame."

So, frameskip of 1 means it skips 1 frame before rendering again. Frameskip of 2 means it skips 2 frames before rendering a frame, etc. I think. Different games react differently, but in games that are stable with frameskip, that's the pattern I noticed.
@anonyme-x22

In most cases frameskipping shouldn't cause any improvement in performance. All it does is stop the emulator from drawing the frame.

As Shonumi pointed out you cannot change the ratio between VPS and gamespeed.

Hi,

So i understand, that it is not possible to run a game at full speed by any mean today ?
What about a frame skip when needed like epsx ?

Rgds,
NB: For batten kaitos, frame skip to 1 help to have the game at full speed.
Frame skipping can improve speed a lot. However, the image will be less smooth because the emulator skips some frames. AFAIK, Dolphin doesn't have use frame skipping when needed option.
