Can people stop saying this please?
Windows XP is still supported. Losing D3D9 does not mean Windows XP stops working; OpenGL works with it just fine.
Though if you are using Windows XP, upgrade already. Seriously.

This option is no more available. Unless you're refering to "LLE on Thread" ("DSP on Dedicated Thread")

You're thinking of hyperthreading. Not multithreading.

I'm talking general, not talking about dolphin. After 6 months, even Microsoft stops making critical security updates to XP.

Thanks for info, I edited my post.

Oh, sorry. Fixed.

Hi,
i've lock the 3 firsts core to dolphin , it works somewhat a little better.
Why i'm not upgrading to seven :
- Newer is not always better
- Xp feet my needs, It's 128 mb in ram, 6 services to run instead of 400mb and 20 services
- I didn't the like the last years politic of MS$ - which is to not port composants (directx,Ie,WMP) to old os to push user to new one (What you've done removing directx9)
- Windows 7 and windows 8 don't have any new features that worth the upgrading. it's a lot GUI update, and secondary functionality
Further more, i'm not convinced that directx 9.0c cannot handle all the effect of a gamecube or a wii.
That's my opignon, and even if dolphin won't support directx 9 (:'(), it's a great project.
Anyway, could it be possible to add aframe skip to dolphin, which will be skip frame when the cpu is over, like in other console simulator?
Rgds,
Hi,
Read , and what i'm retaining the most is :
- it will make it easier for the developers to continue to develop Dolphin for years to come.
- Directx 9.0c need a lot of tweak to render some effect (3-4)
Things i can understand.
But it doesn't mean that it is impossible to update directx to support them (by a lot of work

)
Why developers didn't implement their own rendering framework like mantle, it should be faster, not limited to os , and normaly not limited to hardware!
Rgds,
I can assure you that there are a lot of features which are impossible to emulate in d3d9, no matter how much work is put into them.

Hello! It's good to see it worked for you.

Yes, but DirectX 11 is better than 9 and it's not supported on XP.

You can always optimize windows and turn off these services. Also ram is cheap on these days, 272 MB difference is nothing for me.

Actually It fixed on last years. 8.1 is out now and Vista still getting updates. XP is very old. Get over it.

Yes, they made most of the security and reliability stuff on Vista, and this is why it was hated. Did you believe that most of the programs still using 8.1 DOS filenames and taking unneccesary Admin rights until vista came out? This is stupid.

Well if you not believe the developers, you can always fork the code, and try to do it yourself.

You are asking this to wrong person...

You got all this nice gear and then you install Windows XP on it? It's like putting your grandma into a Ferrari!
