....and the fact that it's mind bogglingly hard from a technical standpoint.
Assuming that a Wii U emulator will come some day, and assuming that every CPU core have it's own thread, would this emulator use 4 or 5 cores (CPU Cores + GPU thread + DSP thread)?

Probably. But you still could probably get away with only using one core, but it sure wouldn't be fast :p

Even if the emulator itself utilized 4 cores only, having even more would provide a speed boost by handling background processes. From some tests i made using two cores and then four on dolphin it gave an about 10% speed boost for the same clock speed.
4 cores. CPU 0 + CPU 1 + CPU 2 + GPU. Audio processing is now done in software. They may still have the Wii DSP in there for backwards compatibility but it certainly isn't used for WiiU games.
What about the Wii U Remote Plus? Does it work on Dolphin?
Yes .
I really wouldn't care about Wii U emulation unless a app was created to stream Wii U games to smartphones and tablets like the Wii U Gamepad.

Edit: I made a super ninja edit that no one will notice >.>

An app that steams Wii U games seems a little half-baked to me. Big Grin </badjoke>
Delroth helped make a wiiU gamepad emulator. I don't imagine it would be too hard to port to a phone.
