Full Version: Wind Waker Performance Issues

I recently downloaded the latest version of Dolphin (4.0) and tried to play Wind Waker on it.
At first the performance was low, but I got it to a playable-ish state by tweaking some settings.
The main thing that keeps me from playing this game is the inconsistent framerate, it usually stays on 30 but on the outdoor areas it flirts with 28-29 which leads to a very annoying playing experience.
This problem also causes some audio stutter which is really annoying.

My pc specs:
Intel Q9400 3.2 OC
NVIDIA GTX460 1GB Gigabyte OC edition - http://i.imgur.com/OV1y18G.jpg MSi OC settings
4GB DDR2
Asus Xonar D1

P.S.
I tried playing Muramasa after trying to play WW and found out that the odd performance issues persist there too, let it be known that Muramasa ran great for me before I updated to 4.0.
I have had to roll back to 3.5 to be able to play Wind Waker without the audio stuttering. There is something wrong with 4.0 and WW.
The sound is going to stutter if you cannot play the game at full speed. This is normal and not "broken".

You can try manually setting this game to HLE audio which should help your framerate but it can cause hangs/freezes for this game.
Your CPU is not quite powerful enough to get that extra 1-2 FPS with the changes in 4.0. Any chance you can push your OC to 3.4? It might make the difference.
Well, switching back to 3.5 did the trick, I can even push AA on Wind Waker.
Ill keep my eye out while I wait for the next stable version to come out.
Thanks for the help guys (Y)

4.0 is the next stable version and the one after that will be even more demanding. As the emulator gets more accurate it becomes more demanding (In most cases)

I just played like 2 hours of Wind Waker without a hitch, silky smooth 30fps, with ENB and SweetFX:

If its only going to get more demanding and sacrifice more and more performance with each iteration than this may be the final version for me.
And please dont get me wrong, kudos to them for keeping development alive on this project, I am not dissing them by any stretch of the imagination, keep on the great work devs ;D

EDIT:
I fixed the widescreen and "installed" new textures for link
